We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our new Paris office opening with many of MML’s closest Parisian friends. The office opening follows a period of exceptional investment activity with three new deals and two exits planned by our Paris team this year, as well as welcoming three new recruits. We are delighted to be continuing our support for the Mountain Adventure Fund, helping inner-city children benefit from the challenges mountain environments offer. Having provided initial funding for a successful pilot programme in 2023, this year we are offering volunteer time alongside our financial sponsorship, with a group of ten MML employees successfully completing a three-day training course to qualify them to join future school trips. Our volunteers will assist the instructors and school teachers during the residential trips, increasing the adult to child ratio and allowing the children to engage in more challenging activities. It was a pleasure to host our management teams at another MML Table event last week, this time discussing cyber security. Many thanks to Freddy J. and Thomas Prince from S-RM for sharing insights into current ransomware trends, the anatomy of an attack, and key multi-layer protections and controls. It was great to also welcome Carlo Ramadoro who offered the insurer’s perspective. The evening proved to be very interactive with a lively debate!
