Manchester India Partnership welcomed the Indian Consul General, Dr Venkatachalam Murugan to Greater Manchester. The Consul General joined the MIP Board for a networking lunch, hosted by Emirates Old Trafford, Lancashire Cricket Club at the Emirates Old Trafford ground. Discussions focused on the existing strengths of the relationship between the two regions, such as direct investment into Greater Manchester from India; as well as strengthening the relationship by developing a direct air route to India. Greater Manchester’s leading universities met with the Consul General for a roundtable discussion on establishing lines of communication between the universities and the Indian Consulate - highlighting the importance of India to the GM education ecosystem and providing a basis for future activities with the Consulate. Thank you to everyone who supported the day’s agenda and welcomed the Consul General to Greater Manchester.
