As we celebrate Pride Month at Lucid, Laura MacArthur (Head of People Partnering) shares her emotional connection to Pride and the importance of creating a workplace where everyone feels free to be themselves. With a deep commitment to the cause, Laura works to ensure that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.    "I get emotional about Pride. To me, Pride is about the freedom to be who you are and to be accepted for that, whoever you are.     We must remember that the first Pride was a riot—a powerful response to being told to be ashamed of who you are. The beauty of Pride is that the response to that judgment is to go to the complete other end of the spectrum, make it sparkly, and invite everyone.    The chosen family element of Pride is very moving to me. It's about community, standing together, and celebrating our authentic selves. Transforming lives isn't about cookie-cutter solutions; it's about giving people the opportunity to live the life they want. At Lucid, we are committed to fostering a consciously inclusive culture. This is reflected in 82% of Lucidians saying they can be themselves at work every day in our most recent employee engagement survey. But we know there is still more work to be done.  Acceptance is a low bar - my goal as an ally is to keep listening to everyone’s unique perspective and take action to celebrate how that diversity helps us all to grow.”    Let's continue to champion diversity, celebrate individuality, and create inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. Happy Pride! #PrideMonth #HappyPride #TransformingLives #AccountableAllies

*TW: Cancer In the UK, someone is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes. Almost anyone you speak to will know of someone who has been affected by cancer, with everyone's experience being different. At Lucid, we work closely with cancer, and see the direct impact of cancer on patients, and the difference pioneering research can make to their lives. Cancer has touched my family personally, and for those of you for whom unfortunately the same is true, you will have witnessed the direct impact of Cancer Research UK (CRUK) on the elevation of cancer care in the UK, and globally. This May CRUK are encouraging people to walk 100 miles, to fundraise for the life-changing research conducted by over 4000 researchers, clinicians, and nurses in the UK. Team Ignite at Lucid Group are proud to be taking part in this challenge, and we're half way on a our journey! If you can support us in any way, we would be so grateful! Emer O'Connor (Chief Business Transformation Officer) shares what Lucid Spirit means to her, as she recently raised money to support the important work of Pancreatic Cancer UK : "Thanks to everyone who supported my recent half-marathon in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK. I am thrilled to have raised nearly £1900! A special shout-out to Lucid Spirit for their generous contribution through matched funding. Running alongside 19,000 incredible individuals, each championing their own amazing charity or personal cause, was truly inspiring. The encouragement and donations from everyone at Lucid have made a real difference. That is the true meaning of Lucid Spirit. Thank you! 🏃♂️💜" #LucidSpirit #CompassionatelyHuman #PancreaticCancerUK

Lucid Group is committed to providing a culture of conscious inclusion to those across the spectrum of neurodiversity. As April is Autism Awareness Month, Andrew C. (Group IT Operations Director) shares what this time means to him: "With April being Autism Awareness Month, it offers a good time to reflect on what awareness means to all of us, both personally and professionally.     As a father of a child on the autism spectrum, I have seen how important having a supportive environment can be for empowering an autistic person to grow, and provide unique insights into the world that can help neurotypical people see unique viewpoints they might otherwise miss. It is amazing to see how even small adjustments in someone's environment can allow for the biggest changes and growth as a person.     Because of all this, I am conscious  of how things like language usage and thought process should be considered to allow for inclusivity in any organization, whether it is school or business. I am proud to see the strong emphasis that organizations like Lucid Group have put into promoting inclusive language and thought, especially around the neurodiverse community, including autistic people.  Working in an organization that encourages inclusivity for everyone is such a breath of fresh air, and I know that more awareness around autism and similar neurodiversity can only further to expand that inclusivity.     So, on behalf of the Lucid Group, I hope you can find 10-15 minutes of your day to find how to be accountable allies for your neurodiverse friends, families, and coworkers, so you can empower them to be the best they can be! " The Lucid Group's commitment to neurodiversity inclusion is enshrined in our inclusion policy which prohibits discrimination, bullying and harassment on the grounds of neurodiversity or other identity characteristics. #neurodiversity #inclusion #autismawarenessmonth #accountableallies
