How I relocated my entire business in 48 hours 🔄 🎙️ If you know me personally you'll know I've had my fair share of challenges in my short 3-year business career... and I'm not the type to reflect on them and post on LinkedIn about "My top 3 takeaways from ___" But the last 4 weeks have been the most challenging and stressful of my life, and there have been many moments where I questioned everything... 4-weeks ago today I was in the strongest position I could have ever imagined. An absolutely incredible team of 4, an industry-leading production studio that I'm so proud to call the home of my business, and I had started to convince myself I was out of the weeds of business start-up and on a trajectory towards the CEO life I've always dreamed of 👨💼 😎 Then our entire studio flooded. I lost a member of my team, and I was told with just 2 days notice we had to relocate our entire studio due to construction and maintenance issues... my entire world had changed within the space of a few weeks. People don't often see the real job of a business owner, and I've come to learn recently that it is decision-making, clear judgment, and being the emergency-response unit when sh*t hits the fan. 🚨 The ability to make the right decisions at the right time can be the difference between business success, and collapse. And I was almost convinced we were headed toward the latter... ☄🔥 With a packed schedule of clients booked months ahead, we couldn't afford to take any risks or close for any period of time. I had to pick up shop and relocate the studio I had worked tirelessly to build, within just 48 hours. I didn't know where we could go, or how I could do it. 🤷♂️ I headed out into Liverpool City Centre on a stressful Thursday afternoon, walking into every office building asking for favors. Fortunately, I was able to find a beautiful open-plan office by the Albert Dock, and a very kind Kelly Millward to help us secure a 4-week contract on super short notice. By the next day, I took my team down for final approval, and I started a 48-hour game of car Tetris to get our entire studio moved, rebuilt, and ready for our clients by Monday morning. And we did it. 🚀 It's taken a week or two to actually reflect and decompress from what's happened in the 4-weeks, and I've been so unexpectedly overwhelmed with different emotions. The prevailing ones are gratitude, appreciation, and pride for my amazing team here at Liverpool Podcast Studios and also for the whirlwind journey that starting a business has taken me on. They never said it was going to be easy, but it feels damn good. #podcaststudio #business #resillience
