If you had to explain the concept of ‘net zero’, how would you do it? Sustainability is still a big agenda item for most organisations. Bold statements and ambitious pledges abound, but the detail they’re built on isn’t always communicated effectively. Something that’s plagued climate action in general is the inability of individuals to make a connection between their own actions and the wider consequences. So one of the biggest challenges in sustainability comms is making those bold statements relatable - what does that ambition actually mean? What does it mean to me in terms of how I go about my day, and the decisions I make? Break down those ambitions into bitesize actions that everyone can understand and implement. The second aspect of meeting this challenge is the importance of bringing progress to life - real stories about meaningful activities that people are engaged in to make a difference. People need to see what good looks like, both to inspire their own actions and to feel reassured that corporate ambitions are backed up by deeds and not just words. Our advice at Limehouse is always break it down, make it relatable, and bring progress to life with real stories. #colleagueengagement #storytelling #contentthatmoves #realstories #netzero #corporateambition
