KFC is a great place to be yourself, grow and make a difference.

About us

In 1952 Colonel Harland Sanders opened the first KFC restaurant in Utah. Since then, his perfectly crafted Original Recipe chicken and its secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices has become famous all over the world, and today we have over 900 restaurants across the UK and Ireland. The Colonel was all about doing things the right way. That means our chicken is delivered fresh from farm to restaurant in 48 hours. It’s prepared carefully by hand in-restaurant by trained cooks, using the very best chicken reared to strict welfare standards. That’s what makes our food so finger lickin’ good. The right way also means serving fresh proper food, packed with flavour. So we’ve worked hard to make nutritional improvements across our menu so our fans have as much choice as possible, and we’ve committed to removing 20% of calories per serving by 2025. The Colonel also believed in feeding promise, wherever it’s found. So that’s why we invest heavily in the development and careers of our 24,000 employees – we were the first restaurant to launch an honours degree. And since its 2015 launch, our KFC Foundation has paid out grants totalling £3 million to our charity partners who are passionate about developing and nurturing young people across the country. Who are Yum! Brands? KFC is one of the 3 brands operated by our parent company Yum! along with Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. We are the world’s largest restaurant group – in fact in 2018 we opened our 48,000th restaurant. Importantly, we’re extremely proud of our 1.5 million employees around the globe and the unique culture we’ve built, one that’s filled with energy, opportunity, and fun. We believe in our people, trust in their positive intentions, encourage ideas from everyone, and have actively developed a workforce that is diverse in style and background. Yum! Brands is great place to be yourself, grow and make a difference.

The first KFC Kentucky Club workshop was a resounding success! 🚀   We kicked off our series of career workshops in Manchester, in partnership with Bauer Media Group - Academy and KISS FM.   Our first session, led by industry expert Simon L., focused on entering a career in media. Packed with insider knowledge and valuable tips, the workshop was a hit.   Participants honed their interview techniques, refined their elevator pitches, and capped off the day with a tour of the KISS Radio studios. Some even recorded their own radio segments! 🎙🐓   Don't just take our word for it! Kentucky Club member Emma, 20, shared:   ‘It was really useful, and they gave us loads of tips and ideas on how to set goals in our careers…I did enjoy the KFC lunch too, I won’t lie! I learnt how to be confident in myself, to not compare myself to other people, and also how to set goals and have resilience.’   If you are 16-25 and eager to benefit from our FREE early careers advice, networking sessions, and interview practice, sign up for our next sessions here: https://lnkd.in/eCs-ZcZ3

Recently, we launched our newest affinity group, Parents Inc, with a fantastic social connect event at our Head Office. This event was a great opportunity for employees to connect, learn how Parents Inc will support them this year, and share ideas on how the group can best assist KFC parents moving forward. The mission of Parents Inc is to ensure all KFC parents feel valued and supported, enabling them to be their best selves both at work and at home. This launch event marked the beginning of our journey towards 'parenting out loud' in the workplace. With many more events lined up for 2024, including fireside chats, a parents panel, and various campaigns, we aim to highlight the parenting calendar and raise awareness of the challenges our KFC parents might face. Our goal is to help them excel at both work and home during those crucial times. #LifeatKFC #Worklifebalance

Today, alongside World Health Organization and Yum! Brands we're celebrating our Food Safety Champions as part of World Food Safety Day! This year we ran a competition to find the everyday icons in our restaurants who lead food safety in our operation, creating the best fried chicken in the world. And over the last week, we've been out in our restaurants crowning our Food Safety Champions, chosen by their peers. A massive congratulations to our well deserving winners: Magdelena Gorecka, Shibna Krishna, Mark Piper and Zoe Brooke, all of whom were nominated by their peers and coaches. We thank them for consistently championing and prioritising food safety standards and culture in their roles, vigorously following procedures and setting expectations for their teams and providing feedback and sharing opportunities for improvement. After all, finger lickin’ chicken doesn’t get served up easily. Cheers to all of them! #KFCUKI #LifeatKFC #WorldFoodSafetyDay

🦈🍗 You're gonna need a bigger bucket! 🍗🦈 We've recently unleashed the Jaws-themed redesign at our Thorpe Park restaurant, and trust us, it's an experience you won't want to miss. Located in the heart of Amity Cove, amidst the aftermath of a giant tidal wave, our restaurant takes dining to new depths. We have created a truly bespoke KFC experience, tailoring our heritage design and décor but in keeping with the time period and aspects of the movie ‘Jaws’. With a shark bursting through the ruined ceiling, to a boat suspended high above diners' heads, and an atmosphere that's as thrilling as it is delicious. 🎢🌊   A massive shout out to everyone involved in this jaw-dropping transformation! Our in-house design and construction teams, along with our franchisee DPG - Demipower Group, and our ever-supportive suppliers in AW Architectural Design Ltd, Table Place Chairs , Ash Rajput, Jonathan Taylor and Oakwood Contracts Ltd    #KFCUKI  #ThorpePark
