To Laibah, Adnan and the whole team. Jazakumallahu khayran to all of you for your efforts in putting this event together. I must say I was really impressed with the quality of the engagement and the dynamism I saw last night. It's an absolute pleasure to spend time with you all. It energises me, helps me to grow as a person and find my own purpose. For that I am grateful. I have received many messages since last night and it will take me a while to respond. For those who are simply sending connection requests, please don't be upset if I don't respond. I only have the bandwidth to respond to specific questions, and in most cases I may simply refer you to my FAQs. Just one slide I want to summarise here: - Plan your lives. (And Allah is the best of planners) - Strive for excellence (ihsan). - Invest in yourself, respect yourself. - Do something because it's hard. - Increase your attention span. Read hard books. Stop watching TikTok. - Ancient wisdom is your best source of knowledge, none more powerful than Quran and sunnah. - Turn up on time. - Turn up! Showing up is 80% of success. - Make your bed. One day those small tasks will add up to a worthwhile life. Get 2-5 years under your belt at the top firms, then come and work for CCM.

The demand for Islamic Finance is growing 🙌🏽 Last night, I attended Harris Irfan’s talk at Queen Mary University of London! The lecture hall was packed - filled with majority young and keen Muslims wanting to learn more about understanding Islamic Finance, and creating a fairer economy. Harris spoke on a range of topics, including the journey of Modern Islamic Finance (which he had a major part to play in), and what Bitcoin could mean for our economy. I left with many takeaways but the biggest is that young Muslims care about this industry. They care about keeping their money clean, and they are willing to support those that are trying to enable exactly that. It’s up to those (myself included) who currently work in the industry, to continue innovating and inspiring young Muslims. In 5 years time, the industry could have the brightest and best talents amongst the population!

I highly recommend university students who are interested in learning about shariah-compliant student finance to make their way to Queen Mary University of London next week for this event. We will confirm if we are able to livestream the event and share the relevant details for those unable to make it. Thank you to Sheikh Salman Hasan, Ustadh Umer Suleman, The British Board of Scholars and Imams (BBSI), Sheikh Abdullah Hasan, Sheikh Imran Chaudhry, Islamic Finance Advisory, Queen Mary Islamic Finance Society and everyone else assisting for making this important event possible.
