We are at a key moment in our journey to scale up high integrity biodiversity credits market, with a unique chance to build solid foundations [with the work of the IAPB]. 🍀 This is what our co-chair Sylvie Goulard explained to CDC Biodiversité, in its recent summary on biodiversity credits. Today we have launched our report on our consultation on archetypes for #BiodiversityCredits! This report brings together feedback from 82 respondents in 27 countries 🌎 and additional insights from stakeholder discussions on the consultation. We covered 6 archetypes and we heard about: 🌳How we could build-in high integrity with rules, standards, guidelines and oversight 🌳The potential of the archetypes to deliver positive outcomes 🌳The opportunities for businesses to use biodiversity credits to bring nature action into strategy and operations 🌳How projects could be enhanced by the knowledge, experience and stewardship of Indigenous Peoples and local communities The full report is available on our website at https://lnkd.in/e-ZksYmf

Results of our Second Consultation on #BiodiversityCredits archetypes will be out next week! 🍀   Before sharing more details, we first want to thank everyone who took the time to give their views on the range of market archetypes for #BiodiversityCredits. Your feedback helps us understand how different archetypes work and at which conditions they can deliver high integrity biodiversity credits that bring tangible results for biodiversity and for the stewards of nature.   🌍 We can already tell you we counted responses coming from 27 countries around the world ! 🌎   Stay tuned for more details coming next week!

IAPB co-Chair Sylvie Goulard visited London this week for a number of meetings with UK-based stakeholders. It was extremely valuable to hear the perspectives of some key UK businesses on biodiversity credits, including England’s Biodiversity Net Gain initiative, at a breakfast meeting co-hosted with UK Business & Biodiversity Forum. Sylvie also had the opportunity to meet with UK conservation organisations WWF-UK, World Resources Institute Europe, RSPB, The Wildlife Trusts, National Trust, and Green Alliance, who offered insightful perspectives on what makes a high integrity biodiversity credit. She was also able to meet with Aldersgate Group to hear the UK financial sector’s perspective on how to scale up financial flows into nature conservation and restoration. 🌳 🐞 🌻

Two of our inspiring Panel members, Rhian-Mari Thomas OBE and Simon Zadek, are keynote speakers at the upcoming Biodiversity & Nature Markets Summit in London on 27 June.
