🔋 How do I energise myself while studying hard? Well of course by jokingly writing weird, academically styled notes to my favorite internal comms peeps – my Master’s cohort! Here’s an example of last night’s group chat. Can you tell what I have been focusing on recently? 😅 -------------------- 𝘈𝘯 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘨 Based on anecdotal evidence, it appears that the internal comms professional (ICP) leans on caffeine to energise themselves for school assignments. Observations suggest that consuming sugary snacks does not quite provide the same boost as a morning coffee. This appears an issue at evening times when caffeine is known to negatively impact (says who?!) the quality of sleep. To appeal to different representational systems, the author suggests serving the ICP a cup of decaf coffee from a Solent University mug. This ought to appeal to their visual, olfactory, gustatory and kinesthetic senses plausibly increasing their energy through association to their morning coffee. Observations suggest that while chatting theoretical nonsense to their cohort's WhatsApp group does not directly impact the quality of the ICP's assignment it appears to amuse them which can serve as an emotional priming technique making following tasks more favorable to the ICP. The author therefore suggests the ICP should connect to their cohort with nonsense to boost their energy levels. Institute of Internal Communication 🤭
