First Housr was nominated as one of the Northern Stars for the Northern Tech awards ran by GP Bullhound last week. I then pitched Housr to an awesome panel and I am proud to say during the evening awards ceremony, I was awarded the Northern Star Entrepreneur for this year, buzzing! 🚀 Congratulations to all the companies that were involved not just the award winners; every company had serious traction, scalability and potential. It was an honour to be in the room with you all especially Patrick Smith (Zally®) and Sean Brown (Versori)! There are some awesome companies coming out of the north and the mentality of 'just how big can we grow this' is slowly but surely resonating across the Manchester tech scene and It's what every founder should be thinking. Housr is on a mission to change the face of rental, we are expanding by 300% in the UK this year and 600% in the US! We are changing the lives of hundreds of thousands of students... soon to be millions. To all my team, you are the people responsible for this award. Keep smashing it guys. Since Housr expanded to the US last year, I have had the privilege of heading across to the states every 6 weeks or so to visit my team out there and accelerate growth through activating new clients, scoping new partnerships and raising investment. 🇺🇸 🗽My next trip is just around the corner and I will be heading across to NYC on the 17th March. I will give you all a glimpse into our new UK and US office later in the week - we have moved into two awesome new spaces, one managed still by Department and one in Nebraska! Objectives for NYC in a couple of weeks:🚀 📈 Activate a new client worth up to $2m per year in ARR. 💰 Accelerate my current investment round - 32 meetings currently booked in across a 10 day period. 🇺🇸 Re-visit the state government and offer a proposal on how to help solve the housing affordability crisis amongst students and young professionals.  🌍 Immerse myself in the awesome NYC startup ecosystem - we have some great events and dinners booked in and maybe even our very own Housr NYC event Running a global business has had its challenges and many of which I am yet to face, but it’s fu*king awesome, I enjoy every minute of it; Craig Joseph Housr's president and my lead in the US is cooking up some seriously exciting things and his team has been driving forward at speed! Housr is in hyper growth mode and believe me we will be the future of rental. 🫡🏡 I wanted to shout one of my new hires out briefly. Housr has recently made 6 new hires over the past 2 months and we are on the look out for our newest addition: 🚀 👀We are looking for a: Finance and Business Analyst 💰📈 (£35,000 - £40,000) Someone with a finance background but a strong business acumen, who will support in day-to-day financial activities, whilst monitoring and modelling our monetisation strategies and revenue streams. All in an attempt to control them, in terms of ensuring Housr grows fast but sustainably and also to manipulate them to improve our overall efficiency. We had the privilege of hosting a remarkable event that not only celebrated our company's incredible journey but also provided an opportunity to share our success with friends, family, the press, and the vibrant startup community.
