What a weekend! 👏🎖️ A HUGE congratulations to all teams competing in this year's Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge, including our very own Mega Muffins! Along with 104 other teams, Jordan, Amy, Chris, and Lou took on a whopping 9 hours of trekking, mountain biking, and kayaking in the Lake District to raise money for an incredible cause. A record-breaking £406k was raised in total including £2.5k for our Charity Of The Year, CANCER UNITED.

Activities included a game of pin the stalk on the broccoli, wearing a whole host of green, and a good old broccoli-themed quiz. Who's ready for another action-packed season? 🏏 Today marks the start of the 2024 County Championship and another year in partnership with Sussex Cricket. Along with cheering on our local team, we'll also be selling our range of pies, rolls, mini muffins, little quiches and dinky rolls in the infamous Greig's Cafe. If you're down in Hove for a match, be sure to check us out.

From food waste to an unforgettable feast 😋 Every year, our internal team of planet-saving pioneers (otherwise known as our Green Beans) host a team lunch for us to raise awareness of #FoodWasteActionWeek. A whopping 9.5 million tonnes of food goes to waste every year in the UK and this lunch was made entirely from items brought in from home and around the business that would have otherwise gone to waste. From marmite and veg peeling soda bread to a Weetabix, buttermilk & orange panna cotta, this year's menu was full of ingenious and inspiring dishes that made for a VERY delicious lunch. Hats off to Jordan, Nikki and our wonderful Food Team for a fantastic spread as always!

We're well over halfway through B Corp Month 🎉 We think B Corp said it best. Getting certified as a B Corp isn't the end of the road, it's just the beginning. It's about continuously improving the way we operate as a business to have more of a positive impact on the world around us. When we first became a B Corp in 2021, we scored 80.4 and since then we've been working hard to improve that score ahead of our re-certification later this year. This year, we'll be continuing to support The Garden Army 🚜 Based just up the road from us in Sussex, The Garden Army is a community project set up by Farmer Tom to support people of all ages living with health and wellbeing needs. Life on the farm is all about slowing down and the support they provide their army of volunteers is invaluable. Here's Tom giving us a tour of the farm...

Happy #InternationalWomensDay 👏 To all of the women at Higgidy and beyond, today is all about celebrating YOU. Our business wouldn't be where we are today without the achievements of some truly inspiring women. Alongside the celebrations, today and every day is also about raising awareness and taking action. At Higgidy, we've almost closed our gender pay gap (2.53% in 2023) and we're actively working on even more ways we can prioritise opportunities for our teams to grow and develop to close the gap completely. We also wanted to take #IWD as an opportunity to give an extra special shout-out to our local U12s girls football team, sporting their 2024 kit. We'll be cheering you on every step of the way.
