About us

HAL Robotics is a London-based software company focusing on novel applications of robotics in manufacturing, construction, and creative industries. Since 2014 we have been helping our clients in the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia innovate and get to market faster, by providing them with robust and highly flexible solutions to program, simulate, control and monitor processes involving industrial machinery. As well as covering traditionally automated processes, we specialise in the programming of complex toolpaths, such as those required in additive manufacturing; highly variable jobs allowing production of small batches and unique items; and applications which require adapting robot tasks from various software ecosystems. Underpinning our services is the HAL Robotics Framework, an extensible and modular software which facilitates inter-device communication, adaptive programming of robot tasks, and motion planning for one or many robots working together. HAL Robotics have developed and tested the Framework in a variety of industries over the years, from aerospace to construction through food and beverage, ensuring that it can support any process asked of it. This flexibility, whilst an advantage in its own right, also acts as the basis for our bespoke software solutions for novel processes or markets. By tailoring solutions to clients’ existing expertise, we lower the barrier to entry for robot use and provide interfaces in terms that they understand with links to software they already use. HAL Robotics stays at the forefront of innovation through internal and collaborative R&D projects. We also provide flexible application prototyping tools to researchers, whatever their field, allowing them to focus on the research that drives them. As well as accelerating and de-risking these experimental phases, using the same industry-ready tools in R&D endeavours guarantees that innovations are quick and easy to industrialise.

    📣 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐬! We’re excited to launch the first funding calls for our two new programmes – Robot Dexterity and Precision Neurotechnologies. 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 🦾 + This programme aims to unlock a step change in robotic capabilities by funding advances in robotic hardware + advanced simulation. + Combining novel components with a new approach to design, we will release the bottlenecks in robotic dexterity and create more capable machines to help us with difficult + dangerous tasks. + If successful, these advances stand to make robotics much more useful than it is today, boosting productivity + prosperity and helping to ease the labour shortages of tomorrow.     👩🔧 The integration of robots into metalworking epitomises the need to quickly and easily set up, program, and adjust robots for different tasks, ensuring that they operate efficiently and safely. But should the experienced and highly skilled fabricator also be expected to learn to program a robot? 🤖 Traditional robot programming methods often require extensive coding and technical expertise, posing barriers to entry for operators and engineers alike.
