About us
Grenson was born in 1866 in Rushden, Northamptonshire. William Green, the founder, started making high quality shoes for London Gentlemen and was so successful that he soon had to build a factory and the company grew from there. Recently Grenson has undergone a new lease of life, helped by their focus on quality and modern design whilst never losing sight of their impressive heritage.

Capturing the spirit of the Emilia Wickstead AW24 Show, the loafers have an off-beat, metropolitan essence. Drawing inspiration from the distinctive fashion of Teddy Boys and Girls, the loafers are both classic and rebellious in style. The “Grenda” loafer combines two of our classic loafers Miranda and Bartlett adding an exaggerated, elongated tassel detail for impact. A couple of seasons ago we decided to beef up a few of our iconic styles by making them more performance driven. However, making a Goodyear Welted shoe means stitching pieces of leather together and that in turn means lots of holes. Therefore to make a waterproof version of one of our shoes is very difficult hence why you never hear about them. But now we have now perfected a technique where we make a technical waterproof and breathable bag and stitch it in-between the upper and the lining. So now you can get your favourite Grenson iconic style that is fully waterproof, is made from technical materials and has a Vibram outdoor hiking sole. Get hiking.
