    At MAD//FEST today, Anna Greene VP Customer shared her insights on building a brand in a technology led world. Some snackable insights from the session: ⭐ Gousto is a data company that loves food. We marry IQ (data and technology) with EQ (deep understanding of the customers, our passion for food and our brand). Both are key ingredients for success. ⭐ A clear brand positioning gives a north star from which to shape your product strategy. It gives a common language to align people around. The most successful companies are those that can seamlessly align brand and product strategy. ⭐ Creativity allows tech companies to break out of the conventional moulds; reshaping consumer expectations and setting new standards for what’s possible.     It's been an incredible pride month at Gousto! The mission of Gousto Pride is to improve the experience of LGBTQ+ Goustonians and customers, and we do this with three key initiatives: Creating: a supportive & empowering space Inspiring: all Goustonians to learn more about LGBTQ+ issues and become allies Identifying: opportunities to solve key issues and helping the business take action This month we hosted: 🥚 Our first ever Pride Sports Day: Creating an empowering space for LGBTQ+ Goustonians and allies. Think egg and spoon race rather than 100m and high jump. 💅 Drag Realness with Sophia Stardust: A special Q&A between Timo Boldt and the fierce drag artist Sophia Stardust, where we learnt more about LGBTQ+ issues and the importance of allyship. 🎉 Pride Party Social: A sizzling social, celebrating the rights of LGBTQ+ humans. We’ve also been supporting akt charity who provide routes to safe housing, support and secure futures for LGBTQ+ young people. We’re proud of all the progress made so far, but our work at Gousto continues to bring us closer to our overall Pride mission.

    Last month, we were delighted to announce our 2023 financial results, with record profitability driven by our investments in market-leading technology. 🎉 Now we want to step behind the scenes, and recognise the amazing team work that went into reporting the results. There were many crucial ingredients in this complex recipe, from the Finance, Legal and Risk team right through Sustainability and Creative. Our CFO Jim Buckle reflects on the process, showcasing just how much collaboration is required to get something like this off the ground.     I wake up at 8 am. Eat breakfast at 8:30 am. Look at several pictures of food before 10 am. By 11 am I’m ready for lunch. Think about dinner until 6 pm. Eat dinner at 7 pm. I’m thinking about breakfast by 10 pm. I could lie and pretend I think about other things all day. But I’m fuelled by purpose. And leisure. And food.

    Last week we announced our speedy return to profitability. 🎉 Against a challenging economic backdrop in 2023, we’re pleased to report record underlying EBITDA of £26 million for the year. And robust revenue, increasing1% YoY to £308 million. Besides beating our financial expectations, we have made huge progress within our customer proposition: 👩🍳 Launching boxes for one, three and five person households, becoming the only recipe box to cater for all one through to five people 🍅 Growing our menu to 100 weekly recipes, including more plant-based, gluten free and dairy free recipes 🍱 Introducing even more opportunities to customise meals All made possible by our industry-leading tech capability and increasing use of AI. Our CEO and Founder Timo Boldt chatted with Charlie Conchie from City AM, about where the Gousto business is today alongside his personal journey which features achievements that even we didn't know about… any other deadlifting record holders here!?     Today we are celebrating the ‘Day of Joe’… 10 years since the amazing Joe Quinlivan joined Gousto. 🎉🎉🎉 When Joe joined us back in 2014, the world of Gousto looked very different... for starters the Customer Care (CC) team was just two people. Our customers loved him so much, they'd call up specifically wanting to chat to Joe even years later. Today Joe heads up an award-winning team of 40 brilliant CC agents, leading with passion, dedication and always a huge care for our customers. 🙌 Joe has played a huge role in getting Gousto to where we are today, which is why we surprised the whole company with a day of celebrations to mark the occasion. Cake anyone? 🎂 🎂

    Our Mental Health First Aiders are on hand to support our people every day, and encourage open dialogue about mental health. During Mental Health Awareness Week we dial up the conversation, helping to break the stigma around mental health in the workplace. This year focuses on the powerful benefits that movement has on the mind… cue meditation sessions and skipping competitions. 🧘♂️🧘♂️ We’ve also been raising money for the amazing YoungMinds charity, who help young people get the support they need and make sure they know they matter and deserve help. So, what are the key tech takeaways? 🏠 We're constantly innovating our proposition to open Gousto up to even more households 🥘 In fact, we're the only recipe box to cater for individuals right through to five people 🚚 Our tech and efficiency in the fulfilment centre, enables us to offer double the choice and half the lead time of other competitors Shaun shows how the opportunity ahead is huge as Gousto could be infinitely more mainstream than it even is now. He says: "I know full well that the Gousto proposition of tomorrow will be unrecognisable from what it is today, and there’s an impatience about getting there."
