About us

Glorious Creative is an independent, award-winning branding and design agency based in Manchester’s thriving Northern Quarter. Since establishing the agency in 2002, we have been immersed in all things brand, from creation, re-positioning and re-imagining, to implementing, developing and managing. At Glorious, everything we do starts with the brand. Initially, it may take the form of a workshop or simply listening hard to the brand story – it’s whatever it takes to gain a deep understanding of your company, audience and point of difference. Once we’ve gained this, we collaborate closely with clients to provide the necessary services to take the brand wherever you want it to go. We blend strategy and creativity to devise meaningful and compelling brand propositions and stories. This then drives and informs all creative communications going forward, to ensure the brand in question is consistently and coherently presented to audiences, customers and markets, to achieve business objectives. We believe in process and over the years have refined and perfected our working method and approach to ensure efficient and effective project outcomes. When founded in 2002 by experienced designers Mark Ross and Tom Shaughnessy, the agency adopted two guiding principles: Ensure the designer remains at the core of the process, in order to safeguard the lines of communication. Allow the client to have direct and frequent access to the creative team, thereby encouraging genuine collaboration that results in the nurturing of a meaningful working relationship. This working method provides the perfect platform from which to produce highly creative and commercially effective work, without the need for account handlers or design managers.     🟢 Incoming...new work! 🟢 ivolve, one of the country's leading specialist adult social care providers, approached Glorious looking for a new brand to reflect their updated vision and purpose. Raising a smile in the mind when observing the ‘person’, arms aloft, at the start of the new wordmark, and representing the nurturing environment ivolve cultivates, the new identity inspired an entire graphic language to help communicate a vast array of key messages and themes. A restrictive palette of greens and blues was used to represent peace, nature, harmony, tranquillity, calmness & trust. Prior to the rebrand, the Group struggled with retaining and recruiting new colleagues, but the new brand coupled with a comprehensive colleague attraction campaign we created and delivered – has since helped secure ivolve as one of just fifteen 'Very Big Organisations' in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work.     Campaign Spotlight - Odds Are: They Win 🫰 The requirement? 📝 In Greater Manchester, 18,000 adults experience problem gambling - 1.5x higher than the national average. Yet most campaigns focus on what the individual can do to prevent this rather than exposing harmful industry tactics. The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) briefed Network members Glorious Creative to create a multi-channel campaign focusing on the latter - "It was a privilege to make a difference with this award-winning campaign." The work? 💻 The branding and creative specialists developed the campaign name, identity and messaging hinged on insights from focus groups and a survey. Delivered ahead of the World Cup to counteract heavy gambling advertising during this time, they ran a series of animated social ads and OOH across key transport and hospitality sites. Amplified on X (formerly known as Twitter) and by creating a partner toolkit of digital assets - the campaign was covered by several regional papers and received support from Mayor Andy Burnham, and the Deputy Chief Executive of the Gambling Commission. The Results? 📊 🟡 1.4m people reached, 🟡 2.4m video plays, 🟡 16k unique clicks to website, 🟡 500% increase in views of GMCA support pages, 🟡 Record referrals to Northern Gambling Service (Dec, 22), 🥈 CIPR NW Pride Awards 'Public sector campaign of the year - Silver'.     With many strings to its bow, Migration Yorkshire approached us looking to unite its channels and events under one cohesive brand. From a new logo, iconography and tone of voice, from the web to social to comprehensive brand guidelines - we were tasked with distilling the human-centric message of Migration Yorkshire into a strong and symbolic identity.     📢 Campaign Spotlight: Glorious Creative x Health Innovation Manchester 📢 Sector: Public Health Medium: OOH, Social, & Influencer Marketing The requirement? As the NHS made the shift to joined up, securely stored, digitised patient data, Glorious Creative were tasked with driving awareness of the GM Care Record and the amazing patient benefits they provide. On the campaign, Mark Ross, Creative Director at Glorious Creative, shared "Phase One of the We Are Better Together campaign was a resounding success. So in Phase Two Glorious were tasked with highlighting the GM Care Record’s outcomes, patient data being securely used for research and its impact on the whole GM region. Conveyed through relatable and emotive real-life testimonials, we were proud that over four weeks the social and micro-influencer campaigns garnered nearly 2 million video plays and over 16,000 clicks to the campaign microsite.
