Introducing our Global Angels beehives, and meet our local beekeeper Jumaa. Jumaa noticed our beehives needed attention, and offered to fix them. Within three days we had honey! As pollinators, bees are a crucial component in our ecosystem, helping plants to reproduce and grow as well as supporting biodiversity. Introducing our School Feeding Program. For a one off donation of £40 a child receives two meals per school day for a year. This is 60-70% of their daily requirement. We are in Kenya again with a new team of volunteers joining us in a few days. On this trip we are going to help Jackson and team to build our Global Angels Eco-Dome Village. Check out our progress!

Our team of local workers in Tsavo have been working incredibly hard to build our new kitchen and shower units at the Mkulima centre. This centre will house volunteers who come to Tsavo to help build Superadobe sustainable earthbag housing, our new brick water tanks, and who will be continuing the work on the farm to support the local community. Over the next year the plan is to pilot this new sustainable housing solution with a goal to expand the project in 2025. Watch this space!

Each nominee brings such a wealth of generosity, knowledge, energy and initiative into deepening the already strong links between Aotearoa NZ and the UK. These extraordinary finalists are this year’s Southern Cross most brightly shining examples of that unique ‘get stuck in Kiwi spirit’. The winner will be announced on 9th February 2024, so we will let you know as soon as we hear the results.
