Glenn Lehrer has been a great friend to Gemporia for over 12 years, he knows first hand who we are and our values. He talks here about the 'unique model' of Gemporia and the intimate experience with our customers throughout all of our channels of communication. They are at the heart of what we do. From our Call Centre, through our social media to even receiving live comments while we're on air. We love to hear the amazing stories from our customers and continue to build relationships with them through all we do. It's always a pleasure having Glenn with us and bringing him closer to our customer base. 💜 #customerreleationships #interview #guestpresenter #jewellery #gemporia

"THE LAB GROWN CON [continues]" Our world has changed since July 2020, when I was laid up with COVID. What hasn't changed is the way the jewellery industry continues to try and dupe consumers into their lab-grown con. The value of lab-grown diamonds are not forever. And the direction of travel for owners is bleak in 2024. I am proud the Gemporia Partnership continues to put the people we call our collectors ahead of the profits lab-grown could bring. Should jewellers be dropping the prices on lab-grown diamonds to reflect how cheap they are? Or are you in our industry happy for this to CONtinue? #diamonds #labgrowndiamonds #gemstone #diamondjewelry #diamondjewellery #jewelry #con

Morganite - The Pink Shadow of J.P. Morgan 💗 🤞 Big names surround this pinkish-beryl variety. The pink beryl found in Madagascar was named after the American banker John Pierpont Morgan, or simply J.P. Morgan, in December 1910 at the New York Academy of Sciences by George Frederick Kunz. Kunz remembered as America's first gemologist, was born in New York City in 1856, a time when America knew little about gems and the science of gemology did not yet exist. He discovered two gem varieties: morganite and the spodumene variety named "Kunzite" in his honor. The famous ‘’Tiffany Yellow Diamond’’, was also studied and cut under his supervision. Simultaneously, but truly firstly, the pink beryl stones were discovered in the Urals Mountains in the Russian Empire. In 1908, Vladimir, also spelled Volodymyr Ivanovich Vernadsky, a Soviet mineralogist and geochemist considered one of the founders of geochemistry, biogeochemistry, and radiogeology and the president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, named the newly discovered stone Vorob'yevite in honor of the Victor Ivanovich Vorob'yev (1875 - 1906) geologist and mineralogist in the Geological Museum of the Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, who died on the expedition. Vorob'yevite in the Russian gem community is still a used name for the beryl pink variety - morganite. 👌 Morganite shows a range of pale pink, orange-pink to bluish-pink. The color is created due to Mn2+ ions in the crystal structure. The gems are pleochroic with higher pink saturation viewed along the crystallographic axis. Large gems usually achieve the finest strong color, which is quite rare. ‘’Grace Morganite’’ is the largest faceted 988 cts morganite, part of the collection of the Gemporia Museum. Wonderful adore the beryl collection of the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. 🤲 After red beryl, morganite is the rarest beryl variety, found in Brazil (Minas Gerais), in the USA (Pala mines, California, etc.), in Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Namibia, in Russia (Lipovka deposit, Middle Urals; Transbaikalia), in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan. 🙏 Morganite's popularity significantly increased after 2010 in the USA and with 12%, became the third most popular non-diamond center gem in engagement rings after moissanite (19%) and sapphire (18%). 🫴 Morganites paired with fiery opals and pink tourmaline beads, pink sapphires and brilliants express Japanese tenderness and sophistication for the Coloratura High Jewelry collection by Cartier in 2018, inspired by the famous Japanese actress Ms. Yoshino Kimura. 📷 ’’Grace Morganite’’ 988 cts morganite © Gemporia Partnership Museum ; Morganite with kunzite on cleavelandite and quartz, 23 cm, from the Pech Valley, Kunar, Afghanistan, collection of the @MIM Museum, Beirut © James Elliott ; Beryl collection © Smithsonian Institution Washington, D.
