One common misconception among students is that they need to study finance, maths, or economics at university to enter the finance industry. This simply isn’t the case. While some firms may seek those specific qualifications, many others are actively looking for diversity of thought. 💭 It's not just about having a balanced representation of gender or ethnic diversity. Firms are increasingly valuing diverse academic backgrounds as well. Different subjects bring different perspectives and thought processes, which are crucial in avoiding the pitfalls of groupthink, especially when making investment decisions as a team.
