Following his participation at the recent co-located FTE EMEA and FTE Ancillary & Retailing events, Future Travel Experience caught up with Giovanni Gennaro, Open Innovation Manager, Aeroporti di Roma (ADR). Munich Airport and Lufthansa have launched a new partnership with Miles & More GmbH. This unique cooperation between an airport, an airline and a loyalty program offers travellers and visitors to Munich Airport “an even more attractive shopping experience”. From now on, participants can collect and redeem miles in many stores at the airport. This collaborative approach is perfectly aligned with the objectives of the FTE World Ancillary & Retailing Working Group. FTE firmly believes that by working collaboratively as a sector and leveraging technology, innovative approaches, and new business models, we can create a significantly larger revenue pie for everyone to share, and this unique cooperation between Munich Airport, Lufthansa and Miles & More is the most concrete example we have seen yet of this in action. Royal Schiphol Group, Avinor, Incheon International Airport Corporation and innovation consultancy firm nlmtd, officially unveiled a groundbreaking initiative designed to transform the future of baggage handling through robotics and automation at the recent co-located FTE EMEA and FTE Ancillary & Retailing events.
