Hopetown Darlington - a new rail heritage visitor attraction has officially opened today in Darlington, UK. The visitor feedback and press so far has been fantastic! Figment Productions Ltd, in partnership with project lead consultants PLB Projects (www.plbltd.com), created over 30 multimedia interactives. From immersive soundscapes, family-friendly touchscreens, to character Magic Mirror photo opportunities. Hopetown Darlington delves into the rich history of passenger railways in it's original birthplace nearly 200 years ago. Our favourites? The large-scale 'Made In Darlington' projections of locomotives in the Goods Shed and the Augmented Reality Character APP we created, where visitors can meet historical figures around the Hopetown Darlington site. “The museum is spectacular, there are interactive exhibits as far as the eye can see. There is a train in the centre of the main room, costumes to dress up in, talking marble busts and educational holograms. “ Northern Echo. https://lnkd.in/gD7JNdB7

In collaboration with Merlin Magic Making, Figment has brought to life the vibrant world of Roxie Racer and her team captains at the Minifigure Speedway, the world’s first LEGO themed duelling rollercoaster at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort. Figment was asked to produce animations, voiceovers, and interactive content, covering every aspect of the guest's rollercoaster journey. Creating two pre-show queue line films, team selection, ride loading bays and ride exit animations. Through animation, immersive sound design and interactive storytelling this work expanded upon our previous Figment project, 'the Great Lego Race', existing within the same universe.

MP for Richmond and Northallerton. Conservatives leader. Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

As we head into August, it’s time to look back at this month’s business highlights 👇    On 18th July I launched my new Business Council, which brings together some of the country’s biggest employers and industry experts, including CEOs of Google DeepMind, Sainsbury's and GSK to report from the business frontlines and help grow the economy. I want to make the UK the best place in the world to do business and this Council will play a key role in achieving that. Despite global economic challenges, entrepreneurs are voting with their feet by starting or expanding businesses here in the UK – creating jobs and levelling up towns and cities across the country.   In the last few weeks alone, we’ve seen:     🚗 Jaguar Land Rover-owner Tata Group choose the UK to build its flagship electric car battery factory – representing £4 billion worth of investment and creating around 4,000 jobs 🛩️ Air India Limited, Airbus and Rolls-Royce support 450 jobs and £100 million of investment in Broughton  💊 Pharmaceutical manufacturer TriRx Pharmaceutical Services, LLC commit to a £10 million investment to enhance its capabilities in Liverpool  💉 BioNTech SE sign a strategic partnership with Government to boost research into vaccines for cancer  🧑💻 Darktrace launch HEAL, its AI-enabled product to help businesses more effectively prepare for, remediate, and recover from cyber-attacks    My job is to create the right conditions for businesses to thrive. That’s why this month I:   🧪 Announced planning reforms to ensure areas like Cambridge continue to develop as a leading global centre for life sciences - enhancing its infrastructure and delivering further growth locally  💷 Confirmed the first two Investment Zones in Liverpool & South Yorkshire - expected to deliver thousands of new jobs and unlock billions of private funding   Whether it’s our award-winning game development community in Dundee, our science & tech bases in Cambridge and Oxford or our world-renowned creative industries hub in Salford – it’s people and their ideas that are growing the economy. And it’s happening right across the country. Just look at:  🎥 Figment Productions Ltd based in Guildford, who are delivering hundreds of audio visual, digital and immersive projects around the globe 🥛 Mylkman which has grown from food carts selling plant-based milks in glass bottles to an international retailer 🎬 And the incredible team at Warner Bros. Entertainment Film Studios whose imagination and craftsmanship brought Barbie Land to Watford to shoot scenes for the new film – which I watched with my family last week!  This was another great month in my mission to make the UK the best place in the world to do business 🇬🇧💪
