We provide affiliated leagues around the country with support and services that ensure anyone wanting to play the sport can do so in a safe, consistent and enjoyable environment. This is done in a variety of ways, from administering referee and coaching courses, hosting player development days, promoting events and tournaments, player protection policies, liaising and working with a number of partners to deliver the sport, developing and selecting National squads and working with the European and worldwide Touch community to grow the game. We believe Touch is a sport in its own right and the individual skills, technical and tactical elements and rules make the sport unique and individually distinct. This is why so many players come from a variety of other sports to play Touch.

Day 6 at the Touch World Cup was an action packed affair with the conclusion of pool stage games and an afternoon filled with knockout rugby. The Womens Opens concluded their pool stage matches with a 10-0 win over Fiji and went straight into the knockouts with a 6-3 win over the Cook Islands. The Mens Opens concluded their pool stages with a 10-5 defeat to Australia and were unfortunately knocked out in the quarter finals in a 10-9 thriller against the Cook Islands. The Mixed Opens started their day with a 9-6 quarter final win over Japan but couldn't get past Australia in the semi finals. They'll be going for bronze today! The Womens 27s also had a pool game to contend with and lost 12-3 to Australia but they beat South Africa 3-2 in the semi final to set up a final clash against Australia today! The Womens 35s are also in finals action today after a 7-3 win over South Africa in their semi final. Elsewhere, the Mixed 30s breezed past the Cook Islands 11-6 in their quarter final but lost 15-4 to Australia in their semi final, they'll go for bronze today. The Mens 30s will also go for bronze after a 4-3 quarter final win over Japan and a tight 11-8 loss to New Zealand in the semi final. The Mens 35s will also go for bronze after a tough semi final against Australia and so too will the Mens 40s. Day 5 at the Touch World Cup was filled with high quality action with all age groups back at Highfields Sports Complex for the weekend. The afternoon saw the beginning of finals rugby and the Mens 50s kept everyone firmly on the edge of their seats as they secured a semi-final place by beating Wales 5-4 in a drop-off. The Mens 55s had a tough 14-3 loss against New Zealand in their qualifying final but beat the USA 5-1 in the minor semi final in the afternoon. The Mens 45s also had a quarter final but fell 11-2 to Australia. The Mixed Opens began their knockout campaign with a 12-1 win over Malaysia. Many teams still had pool games to complete and the Womens Open notched up two wins with an 11-0 triumph over Ireland and a 12-2 victory over Hong Kong. The Mens Opens breezed past Oman 21-0 in the biggest win of the day and defeated Hong Kong 15-3 in the afternoon. The Mens 30s took Switzerland down 16-1. The Mens 40s secured two wins with a 12-1 win over Singapore and a 15-0 clinic against Fiji. The Womens 27s continued their perfect start with a 9-2 win over Hong Kong. The Womens 35s were beaten 6-1 by Australia. The Womens 40s also tasted defeat against Australia in a close 6-4 battle. You'll notice that there were no Mixed 30s results from Day 5 as they had a well deserved rest. That's all for Day 5, plenty more finals footy to come on Day 6 as the competition really heats up.

Day 4 saw the action conclude at Riverside and the Womens 40s gave us a brilliant lasting memory from our three days at this fantastic venue. They became the first non-Austalian Womens team to beat New Zealand with an historic 4-2 win. This also made it a double win day for the Womens 40s after their 3-1 over Scotland earlier in the day. The Womens 35s also got 2 wins on day 4 with a 9-0 win against SIngapore and a 9-5 win over France. There were a lot of tough games for our other England teams at Riverside yesterday. The Mens 40s dominated in a 17-2 win over Malaysia but fell 9-5 to Australia, the Mens 50s battled to a 4-3 win over South Africa but suffered a 10-2 defeat to Australia, the Mens 55s defeated Wales 13-0 but lost 12-2 to New Zealand and the Mens 35s battled to a 9-9 draw against South Africa but New Zealand overcame them 11-4. The Mens 45s had a tough day with losses to Switzerland (5-6) and New Zealand (3-11). Over at Highfields, the Mens 30s had a busy day with 3 matches. They breezed past Luxembourg (14-3) and Canada (14-2) but were overcome 12-1 by Australia. The Mixed Opens notched up 2 wins with great performances against Canada (14-2) and the Middle East (9-3), the Mens Opens beat Scotland 12-3 and the Womens 27s got a double win day with victories over Spain (13-2) and Singapore (6-3). The Womens Opens had a mixed day with an 8-2 loss to New Zealand and a barnstorming 18-0 win over the Netherlands. The Mixed 30s had a tough day with a narrow loss to Germany (10-8) and a 13-3 loss to Australia. That’s a wrap on Day 4 and all teams are back at Riverside today for another packed schedule of Touch.

Day 3 of the Touch World Cup was the busiest yet with 25 England matches in total and some teams playing three games in a day. This is what these athletes have trained for and there were some excellent performances in the hot sun. The Womens 35s got the day underway with a barnstorming performance against Fiji that ended in a 17-0 win and they followed it up with an 8-3 win against Wales later in the day. The Womens Opens went three for three with wins against South Africa (13-3), Samoa (11-2) and the Philippines (16-2). The Mens 40s had a great day with an 18-0 win against Sweden and a 12-1 win against Portugal. The Mens 35s also doubled up with wins over Wales (12-2) and Fiji (10-2). The same could be said for the Mixed Opens (13-6 v Jersey and 12-3 v Belgium), the Womens 27s (6-2 v France and 9-3 v USA), the Mixed 30s (12-1 v Wales and 15-1 v Samoa), the Mens 30s (8-2 v USA and 18-1 v Sweden) and the Mens 50s (11-3 v Singapore and 9-3 v France). The Mens Opens came close in a 9-11 defeat to Lebanon but bounced back with an impressive 14-3 win against France. The Mens 45s started their day with a 12-0 against Ireland but fell to a 7-3 defeat to France in the afternoon. The Womens 40s put in a valiant performance against Australia but were unfortunately beaten 8-1 in the end. You may notice a lack of information on the Mens 55s, well they were lucky enough to have a day off! They'll be back in action today though alongside all of the other England teams in another jam packed day of Touch!
