Further elevating the hospitality that Genesis delivers to the Scottish Open and demonstrating the Korean philosophy ‘Son Nim’, which means to treat everyone like a guest in your home, the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR players rolled out the red carpet at this week’s Genesis Scottish Open. Genesis’ ongoing commitment to local Scottish golf saw talented junior golfers, Jodie Graham and Ruby Watt, surprised with a truly special day at the Genesis Scottish Open. Ruby (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) and Jodie (Royal Troon) have shown huge potential on the junior circuit, with both representing Scotland at age group level. They were invited to the Genesis Scottish Open believing they were there as guests to enjoy the day but, little did they know, they had plenty of surprises in store. They were treated to a spot in the Tuesday Pro-Am alongside Major Champion and Olympic Gold Medallist Justin Rose whilst also meeting an array of DP World Tour and PGA TOUR stars including Justin Thomas, Ludvig Åberg, Collin Morikawa and Tom Hoge. Currently, there is no known cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and the average life expectancy following diagnosis is between two to three years. The My Name'5 Doddie Foundation is one of the local charities that benefits from the money raised by The Renaissance Club Charity Foundation and the Genesis Scottish Open. In 2023, Scott Stewart was diagnosed with MND and, after years of attending the Genesis Scottish Open as a fan, played the role of the Honorary Starter of the Pro-Am in a bid to raise awareness for the foundation and condition. Scott joined professional Bob MacIntyre alongside the My Name’5 Doddie Pro-Am team featuring former Scottish rugby international Rob Wainwright, ex-professional footballer Scott Brown and actor Dougray Scott.
