😈 DEVILCORP.ORG IS ONLINE 😈 Today we have officially launched Devilcorp.org, an OSINT investigative website focused entirely on the direct marketing and charity fundraising industry. Think Bellingcat for Credico, Appco, Cydcor, Britevox, and Smart Circle. What is #OSINT? OSINT, short for Open Source Intelligence, involves gathering and analysing publicly available information to address specific questions or problems. In the context of companies like Smart Circle, Credico, Cydcor, or Appco, OSINT includes examining a sales office's social media pages, legal information accessible online (such as Companies House records), and individuals' shared experiences on platforms like blogs or YouTube. In simpler terms, OSINT for these businesses means using online data that's available to everyone. We gather, analyse, and interpret this information to find answers to questions that can’t be found otherwise. Then, we’ll present this information in an interesting and easy-to-understand way. As well as OSINT guides where we’ll break down how to use the information readily available online to conduct your own investigations on these predatory marketing companies, we’ll also be conducting feature length investigations and exposés where we’ll answer this industry’s biggest questions. I'm very pleased to announce that my investigative OSINT website Devilcorp.org assisted with research behind The Times's exclusive investigation into the psychological tactics used by IBA Global (a sales office with Appco connections) in its fundraising on behalf of charities Great Ormond Street Hospital and the National Deaf Children's Society. Well done to James Beal for his fantastic undercover work, and a massive thank you to the members of our community who contributed. In the wake of this investigation, The GOSH Charity has said it was “deeply concerned” by The Times’s findings.
