This insightful workshop with Demilitarise Education and Campaign Against Arms Trade on Ending Universities Complicity with the Arms Trade discussed research on university ties with the arms trade and practical strategies to end the relationship between universities and the industrial military complex. Students from Lancaster University SOAS University of London and University of Warwick also joined to share their experiences of setting up an encampment at their university in solidarity with the Palestinian people and challenging their university's stance. #SSS24

Robust' arms exports 😑 I*rael gave advanced notice for their intent to violate international law, but the UK Gov continues to export arms to them. British arms export laws are a mess with licences lacking transparency with open licences allowing for unlimited quantities and value of the specified equipment without further monitoring. UK industry supply's 15% of F-35 Components with this contract alone since 2016 is estimated by Campaign Against Arms Trade to be making British Arms company BAE Systems £336Million. Now being used to senselessly bomb innocent P4lestinian civilians. British influence is created by where British industry is positioned. By upholding the supply chain of of the I$raeli war machine Britain is complicit and profiting from the g3nocide continuing to unfold in front of our eyes.
