Fantastic day yesterday at our second edition of the Founders Family Office Forum, where we gathered leading family office heads, top investors and unicorn founders to dive into the latest tech investment trends and discuss fostering legacies and the future of the family office.
Some personal highlights include:
💻 An overview of the tech investment landscape and whether SAAS has had its heyday, with Hermann Hauser, John Lindfors, David Hornik and Lina Wenner; whilst Matt Cohler, Jon Moulton, and Christian Angermayer delved into the intricacies of later-stage investing in this landscape
💥 Sector bursts with Torsten Reil Reil on defence tech, and Dr Oliver Zolman MBBS BSc on longevity
🔗 A fascinating insight between the legendary Mark Getty and Ben Goldsmith into the strategic decisions and core values underpinning successful multi-generational family enterprises
🎗️ Building effective philanthropic strategies with Sebastien Breteau, Vikrant Bhargava and Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild, incl. the importance of foundations such as Veddis Foundation & The Breteau Foundation
👪 It was particularly special to hear from three parent-child duos: Martine Clozel & Thomas Clozel and David Fialkow & Julian Fialkow, who spoke with Dr Richard I Wolman on their approaches to building and aligning positive values that transcend generations; and Piers Paul Read and Albert Read’s exploration of human survival lessons from The Story of the Andes Survivors (otherwise known as Society of the Snow on Netflix!)
We closed the day with Rene Rechtman, Corinne VIGREUX, Martin Varsavsky, and Spencer Crawley who provided unique insights into the investment (and parenting!) strategies of unicorn founders, and Jim McKelvey and Christian Angermayer who shed light on the challenges and opportunities in revolutionising healthcare
A huge thanks to the Getty Family for hosting us at the incredible Wormsley estate, our partners dara5, and the sunshine for making a star guest appearance ☀️
