A healthcare communication agency, where people matter.

About us

We are the original patient communications agency specialising in clinical trial engagement and healthcare communications for patients and HCPs. We invested in the importance of patient engagement and centricity in communications many years ago because our insights told us we were onto something. It’s something we still live by today, investing in ways that we can embed and work with new and cutting-edge AI technologies, rather than against them. Because powerful tools, when teamed with the human touch, can strike very loud and lasting chords with your target audience. e: letstalk@cuttsyandcuttsy.com w: www.cuttsyandcuttsy.com t: +44(0) 1223 967222

In case you missed it… Last month we featured in The Guardian as part of the Innovations in Patient Care campaign. Focused on boosting clinical trial access and make patients more health empowered, we looked at how: 🔹Patient-centric trial design is helping to better meet peoples needs, including home treatment options and fewer tests 🔹Activated patients are better equipped for clinical trials, but many with lower health literacy rely on doctors for decisions. 🔹Inclusive education and awareness are needed to help more people understand and participate in clinical trials. Find out more about what can be done to make clinical trials available to everyone. 🔎 https://lnkd.in/dg_BpbTd #ClinicalTrials #PatientCentric #ActivatedPatient

Today, Katie is a medical writer at Cuttsy and Cuttsy. She creates patient-focused materials that present clinical health information about diseases, treatments, clinical trials, nutrition, and lifestyle guidance in an engaging and accessible way. Have you ever participated in a clinical trial, invested your time and effort, only to be left in the dark about the study’s results? You’re not alone. A staggering 68% of clinical trial participants never hear about the outcomes. 🚨 It’s clear that there’s a disconnect between the valuable contributions of participants and the communication of trial results. Discover why sharing trial results is crucial for respect, health decisions and fostering partnerships. Recently Jon Hume, our Commercial Director here at Cuttsy+Cuttsy was invited to attend the European Haematology Association (EHA) Conference in Madrid as part of his training with Myeloma Patients Europe (MPE) Advocacy Development Programme. The event provided plenty of valuable learning opportunities. Here are the top 3️⃣ points Jon picked out from the conference, relevant to anyone working on patient materials and clinical trials support space ➡ 🔷 In the haematology space, trials often continue to add more drugs into the regimen to see improved results for patients. This brings with it a greater burden for patients with more information to process, more drugs to take and potentially more symptoms to manage. Therefore, studies involving this many treatments require highly tailored patient communications and everyone involved need the opportunity to talk with patients about their concerns. 🔷 Bispecifics are a type of promising new treatment that generate a dual attack on cancer cells. Side effects from this treatment can be managed by supportive care, but the more we can help to engage and educate patients on potential side effects, the more likely they are to seek help when they occur. 🔷 Gene therapy, specifically CAR T-cell therapy is a complex and specialist treatment providing incredible results for some patients. However, due to its complexity, trials involving CAR T are complex and often take a long time to recruit the right patients. Therefore, its important that support materials are highly adept in explaining concepts to patients, especially during the period at the beginning of the trial when they are waiting to receive their edited T-cells. Alongside the need for greater patient involvement, there are plenty of opportunities for us to support everyone delivering clinical trials by helping them to add value and improving patients’ lives. #EHA2024 #PatientCare #ClinicalTrials
