📰ACER has published another Open Letter (see below) clarifying what counts as Algorithmic trading under REMIT 2. Article 5a requires trading firms to notify their regulators of such Algo trading activity. But the 5a notification is the simple part. From November trading firms will need the ability to identify and report suspicious activity in their wholesale power and gas trading, including their Algo trading. This is a challenging task, particularly when short-term power markets are involved. Firms must start preparing now and critically, must select the right tools to do the job.
