Complex biodiversity needs are one of the many factors we consider when developing critical infrastructure. Assessment of the impact of our developments on biodiversity and engaging with local special interest groups is an important part of our planning process. Nesting boxes for Kestrels have been installed on some of our towers in the Scottish Highlands, and we've partnered with the Scottish Raptor Study Group and WHP Telecoms Limited to ensure that the Kestrel boxes on our infrastructure are maintained. We've been monitoring the eggs, and we're excited to announce that the first chicks for this season have hatched! Our CEO, Pat Coxen, spoke with ITN and the Chairman of Littlehampton Town Football Club, Rob McAlees, about Cornerstone's role in providing the vital infrastructure required for the UK's increasing digital needs. 📍 Torr, Northern Ireland Along with our trusted partner at WHP Telecoms Limited, we’re delighted to complete another important installation for our Customers Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone, to enable connectivity to the most rural parts of Northern Ireland. Just a stone's throw from the iconic Game of Thrones and The Northmen film locations, Torr Head is the closest part of Northern Ireland to Scotland — with clear views to the Mull of Kintyre — made famous by the Paul McCartney song titled after the headland. Nestled on the famed Causeway Coast Road, Torr is a protected area of outstanding natural beauty, with ancient and historic sites attracting visitors from all over the world. Sean McHenry, MRTPI, Head of Town Planning, invited Councillor Maighréad Watson to the site to show how we deliver these complex projects in hard-to-reach areas, to bring mobile infrastructure in an environmentally responsible way, collaborating with multiple local stakeholders. "The Glens area has suffered from inadequate mobile and broadband connectivity, which we depend heavily on as a society. This infrastructure will make great progress for businesses and tourism” said Councillor Maighréad Watson.
