Bounce back from redundancy, FAST. Most people who have been made redundant: - Are hit with financial stress - Questions of their self worth - Was it me? Was it them? In most cases, the answer is 'it was me' because there is no closure in such event. The company is not going to say it's not you, it's me, hence the only other option is to blame self. This concoction of emotions clouds our judgement, especially when it comes to how we value ourselves. The solution is finding value in yourself when you feel your lowest. You must: - Look back across your career and define moments you are proud of - Learn to tell those stories at a higher priority than your redundancy story - Control your personal brand, your turmoil is internal, the external world does not care and will not carry it for you Here is an example of how to wear your redundancy with pride: 'I was made redundant in my last role, but when I look back across my career I have achieved A, B, C, D and I realised that I need more exposure to my true skills and passion in my next role. My redunadancy has presented me with the perfect opportunity to shift my career in the right direction and lean in on my strengths, that is why I have applied to this role' Woah... recruiter is blown away by your sense of self worth, impressed by your stories and you showed clear resilience to bounce back fast. You are enough, go get it! #redundancy #jobseekers #opentowork

CONFIDENCE is: A feeling of having little doubt about yourself and your abilities, or a feeling of trust in someone or something. It is a trait that can help us face life’s experiences head on. Many of us know what it feels like to carry out a task with assurance, while equally, it’s a common experience to feel a lack of confidence.  But how can we build confidence? Sometimes, we lack confidence due to past failures, negative self-talk, or fear of judgment. Everyone can learn to be more confident in different, powerful ways. What works for some may not work for all, and that's okay. Here are five ways to help build self-confidence: *Stop comparing yourself to others *Celebrate and reflect on your wins *Embrace your failures and view them as learning opportunities *Pursue passions that make you happy *Read books or listen to podcasts that encourage self-confidence. Book your free consultation now to let me help you find ways to build your confidence. https://lnkd.in/gKijSwG3

Termination Tax - the cost of losing an employee. When someone leaves your team, they take a part of the company with them. It could be knowledge, relationships, skills or something harder to measure like trust and the inspiration they give to other employees. Just like taxes, there are ways to minimise it, and you should minimise the bill at all costs, for example: - Listen to your staff and act on their plea to be recognised. - Create platforms for growth and opportunity - invest in L&D. - If you have expectations, show them, don't throw them. - Write and update procedures regularly - do not create key dependencies. - Resolve issues fast instead of classifying them as 'known issues'. - Speak to your staff, ask them for feedback, act on the themes of the issues - get to the root cause. Minimise your Termination Tax, or you may find yourself chasing your tail instead of chasing your competition. #retention #knowledgesharing #processes #procedures #culture #learninganddevelopment

The classic illusion. Do you see an old lady facing forward or the young lady looking away? Here is another illusion you can look at today. The mirror. Do you see yourself looking forward or looking away? The mirror is a powerful way to determine how we are currently feeling about ourselves and I often tell my clients to look in the mirror and see if they can tell themselves, truthfully and convincingly, I love you and I am proud of you. If you cannot confidently do this as convincingly as you would like, then an illusion is playing... because EVERYBODY has a reason to love themselves and be proud, they just haven't had a chance to discover it yet or have reason to believe it recently. I encourage you to sit down in a quiet space and think about: - A time in your life / career where you were proud of yourself - Write a sentence down that summarises what you were proud of - Now think deeper and think about why you were proud, what did you do to resonate so closely with your inner self? Why did it matter to you specifically? - Once you have doe the above, do this step again until you have 3 or 4 times when you were proud Tomorrow, I want you to read these moments out loud to yourself in the mirror. The day after tomorrow, I want you to read them again. And again and again. Do it for the whole of February. The illusion will be gone and you will look forward to the mirror in March. We cover story telling in our career workshop as we think it is extremely valuable to lean in to who we are and what makes us proud, it helps set yourself apart when looking for a new role and you no longer have to present an illusion in your interviews... because you proudly go in as yourself! This is one surefire way to rid of imposter syndrome! Sign up link: https://lnkd.in/eHq2f6gB #opentowork #jobseekers #impostersyndrome

Our Head of Learning & Development Rajni Birdi, sharing some key insights on the art of sales!

Does anyone need to hear this today? People buy for their reasons, not yours. It follows then that to be effective, you must approach people the way they BUY rather than the way you sell. Most salespeople begin the sales process from a position of logic and over the course of the sales process shift towards emotion. On the other hand, buyers tend to begin the buying process at the emotional level and over time shift towards logic.    At the beginning of the sales process the buyer is asking a basic question about the salesperson: Do I like you?    In the same moment, the salesperson is delivering a pitch on product features they believe will generate interest from the buyer. At the end of the sales process when the buyer is asking rational questions, putting objections on the table and negotiating, the salesperson is reacting emotionally to perceived rejection, desperate not to lose the deal. And so it goes throughout the buying journey. At the emotional level, the parties are out of sync. Remember: People buy for their reasons, not yours. CareerVive does not charge a recruiter fee and yet our results speak for themselves when it comes to hiring and retaining top talent! How? Instead of fees, our primary focus is providing consulting in three key areas: - People (1-2-1 coaching, L&D, appraisals, roles and responsibilities) - Operations (process streamlining to reduce admin and redefine roles to business growth responsibilities) - Culture (define your pillars and help your people deliver on them) With ALL this knowledge and information, just think how well we know your vision, the challenges and the type of people who would excel within your business and contribute towards your target culture. It is for this reason we do not need to charge a recruitment fee, we are too busy diving deep into your business and solving the people and operational problems that are creating friction to your growth. With that knowledge, finding the right people is simple. Especially when we implement our bespoke recruitment process, with a huge focus on the candidate experience and boosting your brand! Get in touch to find out more. #recruitment #coaching #learninganddevelopment #peopleoperations #processimprovement #automation #candidateexperience
