We are three quarters of the way towards our £20,000 target, which is absolutely amazing, fast approaching £15,000. With only 6 months left with our BHF partner, we just want to put out a thank you to our CPUK family. It’s your hard work and commitment in both taking part and supporting that takes us to where we are today. WELL DONE TO EVERYBODY INVOLVED SO FAR!!! So pleased to get a PODIUM FINISH at this year's #RedBullSoapboxRace with the indomitable Chris Latham-Warde driving us down the hill into an amazing third place at the helm of Every Can Counts entry #ChittyChittyCanCan! A fantastic way to get people excited to recycle their aluminium drink cans! Next time, we're gunning for first place!

We did it! A podium finish at this year’s #RedBullSoapboxRace in London! 🍾🏆 Our mission to put a spotlight on Team Every Can Counts was well and truly accomplished! Loved racing #ChittyChittyCanCan down the hill at Ally Pally on Saturday, with the one and only Tom Giddings in the passenger seat! Our goal was to make it to the finish line in one piece… We weren’t expecting to be spraying champagne on the podium! Congrats to the whole team on an amazing result. Paul Bacon and Lee Cox - you both built one magnificent soapbox! Well done to all the incredible soapbox teams that took to the track this year. Always love being a part of this fantastic event! 👏🏁

CPUK are sponsoring the No Limits Festival this year in partnership with the Rabbit Hole bookshop in Brigg. No Limits incorporates all the creative arts and banishes the idea of literature being solely academic and inaccessible. The vision is to provide totally inclusive access to literature and creativity for all in North Lincolnshire.  The festival will be held 21st/22nd September at Normanby Hall Country Park. This year being its third year, the event attracts visiting authors illustrators and other creatives from crafters, social historians, dancers, musicians and artists as well as locally based trader community groups and poets/spoken word performers. Schools and colleges are also invited to take part, showing creative work of children/students. The event is free to all to allow totally inclusive access to the park for that weekend. Free transport will also be available this year to and from the site. We hope you will join us at the festival, look out for further details of our involvement.

CPUK are supporting the Dale Park Panthers with a donation to buy their team kit. The Dale Park Panthers play in the East Riding Under 15 Girls' League and are based locally in Winterton. Their fully inclusive principle gives every girl the opportunity to develop not only physical skills but social interaction and teamwork ethics. This very much meets our CSR values, encouraging children to prosper and develop through sport.

We are supporting the Doncaster Stroke Patient Support Group. The support group is run by one individual who suffered a stroke and found no support in their local area. The group is now a registered charity, currently supporting around 20 people. Lisa Brannan, HR Officer presented our cheque, our donation has covered the annual hire cost of the monthly group meeting room and the annual insurance.

Recently our Security team found five ducklings trapped in one of our storm drains which were rescued and taken to Laxey House Bird Rescue in Burringham. All five are doing well and are in good health. CPUK has since made a donation to the rescue centre which relies fully on volunteers to operate.  Laxey House look after all injured and rescued birds taken to them. Our donation will go towards their improved, replacement animal hospital, enabling them to accommodate more rescues. Kieran from Enforce Security had a pro’duck’tive day when presenting the cheque to Laxey House.

We are heading towards our increased British Heart Foundation target of £20,000. Andy King, Electrical Supervisor helped towards this target by taking part in the Humber Bridge Soapbox Derby last weekend. Funded by Hessle Town Council and managed by Hull 4 Heroes, the family event saw teams show off their own homemade soapbox carts and compete in races for prizes. Andy raised £400 and CPUK match funded Andy’s fundraising, so a fantastic £800 total raised. Well done Andy!
