AlphaPlus is part of AQA and is an education service business that specialises in standards, assessment and certification. They help professional bodies redesign their membership and certification processes; develop new professional and occupational standards; develop new qualifications and curricula; write high stakes assessments for awarding organisations and government agencies, and much more. AlphaPlus works across schools, vocational and professional education sectors.   Working with City & Guilds, AlphaPlus provided The Inspection Technology and Quality Assurance National Institute (ITQAN) with a turnkey solution for itstraining programmes in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. AlphaPlus developed five specialist inspection trade #qualifications to cover its one-year training programme and provided ITQAN with knowledge tests and skills assessments for these programmes, with training for course tutors in how to deliver them. AlphaPlus also deployed a team of around 50 engineering specialists to work with #ITQAN and Saudi Aramco’s experts to specify the learning programmes, identifying induction and common units and then the key specialist knowledge and skills that young inspectors need to work within the #EnergySector, such as basic engineering skills, health and safety requirements and company procedures. We are delighted to showcase Mott MacDonald's case study titled ‘Securing #Oman's Water Supply’ featured in our #WaterResilience Report – Unlocking local and global benefits through collaboration.   Global engineering consultancy Mott MacDonald was appointed by the Oman Public Authority for Water (PAW) to assess the security of water supply to its four million customers. Based in #Muscat, Oman, the team was tasked with assessing the security of supply to 17 water supply zones, addressing both short and long-term risks, and recommending measures to enhance water supply system #resilience and security of supply. They also evaluated the costs and benefits of the proposed solutions and created an #ActionPlan for PAW to take forward. The project was carried out between 2019 and 2022. Mott MacDonald needed to find a solution that would ensure all of PAW’s customers, regardless of location, have a safe and reliable supply of #DrinkingWater, as free as possible from risk of interruption or failure.    Want to know how Mott MacDonald found the solution? Today, we are delighted to share Pearson's case study from our #EducationReport. Pearson is the world’s leading learning company. They have more than 20,000 employees that deliver products and services in nearly 200 countries, all working towards a common purpose – to help everyone achieve their potential through learning. Pearson provides high quality digital content and learning experiences, as well as #assessments and #qualifications that help people build their skills and grow with the world around them.   In 2023, the Jordanian Ministry of Education and Pearson signed an agreement to reform Jordan’s #TVET provision in state schools – introducing #BTECqualifications into the country’s national curriculum. Pearson’s internationally recognised vocational qualifications are developed and validated in partnership with educators, employers and governments. These qualifications support students with applied, hands-on learning experiences, leaving them skilled for employment and/or Higher Education.   In the coming weeks, we will share case studies from the Education report delivered by BEI members and local partners across the Middle-East. Like Pearson's, these real-life case studies highlight the impact of #partnerships and offer best practice examples of how to tackle key issues in a range of different contexts. Today we are sharing Advance HE's case study from our #EducationReport, which showcases their work in the #ASEAN region, in the #Philippines. Advance HE is a member-led charity of and for the #HigherEducation sector that works with partners across the globe to improve Higher Education for staff, students and society. They are experts in Higher Education, with a particular focus on teaching and learning, #governance, leadership development and equality, #diversity and inclusion. In a project, funded by the British Council, Advance HE supported the development of a Transnational Education Toolkit, due to launch in 2024, to support UK-Philippines linkages in Higher Education. We are delighted to showcase HR Wallingford's case study, titled 'Building a new National Flood Forecasting and Warning System for Malaysia,' featured in our #WaterResilience Report – Unlocking local and global benefits through collaboration. As part of an ambitious project to build a country-wide flood early warning system, HR Wallingford initially developed a flood forecasting system for 25 catchments across peninsular #Malaysia, covering 99,000 km2, for the Malaysian Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID). The system provides alerts to authorities 48 hours prior to a flood, and #FloodForecasts up to a week in advance. HR Wallingford are now extending the system to 11 more catchments, including the country capital, #KualaLumpur. Unifying the technological approach across the country is an important move for #FloodManagement in the country. Many thanks to HR Wallingford's team for their contributions! Between 2018 and 2020 Montrose delivered the Strengthening Pre-service Teacher Education in #Myanmar (STEM) programme supported by UNESCO through the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's Myanmar-UK partnership for Education. The project provided the design and development of the new Teacher Education Degree for basic education. The degree equips teachers with subject and pedagogical knowledge and understanding to provide better quality teaching in schools, resulting in improved learning outcomes amongst children.   Montrose provides efficient, high-quality consultancy and project management solutions for development agencies, private sector, not-for-profits and civil society working in #InternationalEducation and #Development, and social performance arenas. Abt Global are an engine for social impact. Abt Global’s case study explores the critical need for partnerships and how building institutional capacity is essential for improving equitable access to education globally. Abt Global draw on their Partnership for Improving Education (PIE) program in Papua New Guinea (PNG), which is designed to support PNG’s National Department of Education (NDoE) in its aim to promote equity throughout the education system. Partnerships are the bedrock for more equitable education services and the work that Abt Global are doing in this space is really interesting.
