    💣 Truth bomb: Motivation is not the answer. Instead, what will actually help you reach your goals is: 1️⃣ Clarity on what you’re trying to achieve and WHY 2️⃣ A carefully thought out action plan that you fully trust WILL lead you to that end goal 3️⃣ Small but consistent daily actions that moves you in the right direction one step at a time. Compare this to following some vague meal plan you find on the Internet which promises you a generic ‘lose 7lbs in 7 days’ result…. a) That's probably not your actual goal anyway 🙃 b) The meal plan probably isn’t that well thought out to fit in with YOUR real life, your preferences, or that pizza night you have planned on Friday c) Its a shift change from your regular eating patterns and feels really hard to implement. When you set yourself up to succeed, motivation is less of a hurdle to overcome and more of an afterthought or a nice little extra when it shows up 😉 The fact is when you have clarity, a solid action plan you believe in, and the changes you’re making are manageable; ‘lack of motivation’ no longer shows up as a mask for all the REAL reasons you’re not getting anywhere. What’s holding you back? Is it really motivation?

    THIS is why every diet plan, workout programme and health kick you’ve ever tried, didn’t work. If you’re just trying to blindly follow a plan without understanding what YOUR individual stumbling blocks are, you’re destined to fail. ❌ You’re not self sabotaging ❌ Its not that you need to try harder ➡️ The true problem, is that you’re not setting yourself up for success. This is why I’m such a huge advocate for self-awareness. When you understand your choices and what influences them, you’re more able to make better ones… AND pre-empt situations where you might struggle. Yes you have to create a calorie deficit to lose weight. But if you’re not going about that in a way that takes into account your own tendencies, this is going to feel HARD.

    👊 Let’s #CutTheBS on motivation. You don’t need it. I’ll prove it to you. You do stuff every day that you're not motivated to do. 1️⃣ Chances are you are pretty damn consistent at showing up to work, and doing your assigned work. Are you 100% motivated every single day… probably not. But you’ve got bills to pay. People are relying on you. So you clock in. 2️⃣ You brush your teeth (I hope 😜). Even when you’re dog tired and can’t be arsed… you probably still do. Its a habit. It would just feel weird not to. 3️⃣ If you have kids, you take care of them no matter what. Whether you’re sick, they are being little monsters, or some work stuff has hit the fan… you still take care of them. Because they are your responsibility and being a parent is now part of who you are. 🤔 So how does this relate to your health and fitness? ➡️ See prioritising working out, and eating healthy as a responsibility to you and your family. It’s actually your duty to take good care of yourself! ➡️ Make it a habit so it feels weird NOT to do it. Honestly, once you exercise regularly you’ll start to crave it when you miss a session. Same with healthy eating. When you eat a bunch of processed food or go on vacation, you’ll feel ready to get back to feeling great from eating well ASAP. ➡️ Make it part of who you are as a person. Start identifying as an active person who eats well, rather than someone ‘trying to lose weight’. It might seem a small shift but it makes a huge difference.

    Here’s the truth - the only thing holding you back from getting strong, is avoiding strength training 😉 The fact is, you can start ANYWHERE with strength training. 🏋️♀️ Can’t barbell squat? No worries, use a dumbbell. 🏋️♀️ Still too much? Bodyweight squats are for you. 🏋️♀️ Squats themselves even a bit of an ask? Let's do sit-to-stand from a bench. There is a regression and a progression for everything. And the cool thing is, when you’re new to training… your body learns FAST 📈 And you get to move up the progressions ladder pretty damn quick 💪 Let me tell you, that is incredibly motivating and empowering at the same time! Before you know it, you’ll be someone that other people look at and think “I wish I was strong enough to do that” 🤩
