Our 2024 Tech Predictions 🔮 LLMs move over. LLMs will continue to be a hot topic of conversation, but this year we'll see them on the backburner. LLMs are too generalised for most businesses to make use of. Instead, the focus will be on developing and deploying smaller, specialised models that will effectively meet individual business needs. Happy voting! More than 2 billion voters across 50 countries will head to the polls this year. In an era of Generative AI and deepfakes, unprecedented levels of disinformation will spread like wildfire. This information could skew elections and will be headline news for years to come. You get a regulation... and YOU get a regulation. 2023 saw some historic meetings amongst government officials and leaders in tech to implement new AI legislation. 2024 will bring us more regulatory frameworks, and we will see this being leveraged in political debates. There will also be an increased number of jobs in Data Governance and Risk Management. Supply vs Demand Computer chip shortages will be an ongoing problem in 2024, particularly for enterprise companies and cloud providers. Chip supply might be improving, but demand will keep growing, especially in the EV market. As a result, we will welcome new hardware competitors to market. What's next for tech jobs? Remote work is now a mainstay for jobs in tech. Layoffs will likely continue in 2024, but the increase in remote work opportunities will improve accessibility, giving job seekers more options for applications than before. We predict that contract positions and multifaceted responsibilities will flourish on job boards this year.
