🎉 As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, we're thrilled to share highlights from the recent Learner Agreement Launch event attended by our Liverpool Team at The City of Liverpool College, aimed at supporting our care-experienced young people in college settings. Peter Glover, Sandy Parry, Vicky Moran, and Joe Pacheco represented us brilliantly, networking with local authorities and various services. Jenny Turnross, Director of Children's Services, opened the event with inspiring words, followed by key pledges from Social Care, The Virtual School, City of Liverpool College, Housing (Bedspace), and a student representative. Sandy and Joe proudly presented the housing pledges drafted by young people. Some of our Bedspace youth were even featured in the launch video, highlighting their voices at the heart of this agreement. These pledges reinforce our commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for young people in care and care leavers in post-16 education and training. The event concluded with discussions on the long-term implementation of the agreement and potential involvement from other local authorities. We are delighted to share the wonderful news that our Operations Director and Co-Owner, Chris Wareing, alongside our Registered Service Manager, Peter Glover, and Head of Housing and Acquisitions, Thomas Culshaw, took part in Mahdlo Youth Zone's annual golf day. ⛳️ Our remarkable team not only participated but claimed victory for the second year in a row! 🏆 The event, which raises funds for Mahdlo, a registered charity and Youth Zone in the heart of Oldham, was a resounding success, bringing in over £8,500. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Sasha Dixon from Utilita Energy at our Liverpool office. ⚡️ Sasha provided insightful energy awareness sessions for our dedicated teams of support workers and office staff, bringing along a variety of Utilita goodies, including Energy High 5 leaflets. These leaflets are packed with fantastic tips on how small actions can save money, such as turning down your heating by just 1 degree to save £129 annually. Sasha had a wonderful time, “I had such an amazing time with the team at Bedspace! 🌙 Celebrating Eid ul-Adha: A Time of Sacrifice and Blessings 🌙 This coming week marks Eid ul-Adha, one of the most important festivals in the Muslim calendar. It commemorates the prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. It is a time of reflection, gratitude, and community. From Sunday 16th June to Thursday 20th June, many of the individuals and young people we support will be celebrating. Eid ul-Adha involves: Sharing the meat of a sheep/goat with family, friends, and the poor. Attending special prayers at the mosque. Expressing gratitude and giving to charity. Visiting family and friends. E from our Yorkshire Group Living service has taken to the stage, performing the lead role Jamie, in the musical ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’! 🎭 E is studying A-Level Dance and a double BTEC in Performing Arts at Wyke Sixth Form College.
