Get clued up on the extra costs you might need to pay if you're buying a home in 2024 👇 For most first time buyers, the biggest hurdle is the deposit… but what about the other unexpected costs that come with it? 👩⚖️ Conveyancer fees – you will need to hire a conveyancer to deal with the costs relating to the legal work involved in buying a house. 📝 Surveyor fee – it can be a good idea to arrange for a surveyor to inspect the property before you buy it. This can help identify any problems and could save you money on repairs in the long run. 💰 Valuation fee – some lenders charge a fee to arrange a valuation of the property to ensure it is worth what you are paying for it. 🏠 Stamp duty - a fee you will pay when buying a property over £250,000. Although, you won’t have to pay this if you are a first time buyer unless the property is worth £425,000 or more.
