At ATG Entertainment, we provide a stage for everyone. Recently our CEO Ted Stimpson sat down with Megan and Daniel from our UK IDEA Committee to help raise awareness of their important efforts. The Committee meet on a bi-monthly basis and focus on ATG Entertainment’s commitment to being an Inclusive, Diverse, Equal and Accessible (IDEA) workplace. Along with supporting our incredibly active employee networks, the group also hold an IDEA forum every six months that is open to all staff to listen, join in and discuss ways to help improve ATG Entertainment as a truly inclusive and diverse organisation. Thank you to the staff at our wonderful Phoenix Theatre for letting us shoot in the gorgeous bar and cafe area!

We're delighted to launch PLAYground, a new Creative Learning initiative in partnership with the Savoy Theatre, supported by Westminster Culture and Community Grants! PLAYground will see Key Stage 2 pupils at 20 Westminster-based schools receive inspiring playwriting workshops led by West End practitioners. Conor Hunt, our Senior West End Creative Learning Manager, says of the project: "Through PLAYground, we hope to open the doors, not only to the Savoy Theatre, but to their imaginations; and bring to life the stories they want to tell and see – especially as for many this may be their first experience of West End theatre."

Today we’re shining a spotlight on the ATG Creative Learning team’s newest project, which has enjoyed a successful pilot in some of ATG’s UK theatres: Creative Learning Presents! This cost-effective initiative aims to provide first-class theatre, plus educational content, to audiences at various ATG venues for a highly affordable price. Following the ATG Productions tour of Pretty Woman, Creative Learning Presents uses theatre stages for additional daytime shows when venues would usually not be in use. With the invaluable talents of Hove-based theatre company Out of Chaos, the ATG Creative Learning team presented an initial run comprising several afternoon performances of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, adapted into a thrilling two-hander. This well-attended inaugural tour saw over 7000 teachers and students attending performances in Liverpool, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Brighton and Sunderland. Reviews from press and schools audiences were incredibly positive, with teachers from St Andrew’s Primary School in Brighton remarking that their year six students ‘loved the use of light and… got so much more from [the experience], knowing how it all worked to build the drama’. The Creative Learning team now plans to develop the Creative Learning Presents offer, following the success of the project’s pilot. In the meantime, enjoy this video explainer, featuring some of the team behind the project at Macbeth’s Liverpool Empire Theatre date in January 2024!

Happy Earth Day! 🌍 At ATG Entertainment, we encourage our colleagues to live and work as sustainably as possible, whether it means updating office recycling bins to be more effective, reducing waste in our venues, or putting old materials to good use... A great example of the latter is the journey our natural hemp fly ropes take after they end their days at Theatre Royal Brighton. When these ropes need to be recycled, we send them on to a new life at Drusillas Park in East Sussex, where they provide entertainment for some of the park's animals! 🐒 #EarthDay #EarthDay2024
