About us
Anthropy®™ is a major three day gathering for leaders. It grew out of the fusion of ideas for a UK ‘Davos’, a ‘Glastonbury of Good’ and a national ‘Ted talk’. It is in fact none of these but will combine the best aspects of thought leadership, creativity and inspiration together, in order for senior leaders and influencers from across the country to share and be encouraged to play their part in shaping our national narrative. The Covid period and how we move forward, offers a unique opportunity and moment in time to think differently and create the means to inspire change. It affords a chance to re-assess as a nation what we value and what values we will embrace to create new thinking to tackle long standing challenges. We seek to put aside what divides us as we all go about our good works to build a better, more harmonious and human centric future. Our Approach We are asking four questions about the qualities which we wish to see influencing our futures and the qualities we then contribute to the world. These are our four ‘pillars’ of interest 👩🏻🤝👨🏾People👉🏻What quality of life do we wish to see over the next 30 years? 🏡 Place👉🏻 What qualities of place are required for this quality of life? 💷 Prosperity👉🏻 What are the qualities of a ‘good economy’ to support our aspirations? 🌍 Global Perspective👉🏻 What qualities do we represent to the world to help solve shared issues?

#Anthropy is founded on the principle that the future is a shared responsibility, beyond politics, and at its core is the UK’s largest shared agenda, with hundreds of organisations contributing. The agenda for our national gatherings is informed through contributions made by Anthropy member organisations and for #Anthropy25. It will also be shaped by our recent research. Insights gathered from the #Anthropist perspective, combined with that of the general public will better inform our national agenda and that of the national gathering. Through our research 8 key priorities for change were identified by Anthropists. This has shaped the themes for Anthropy25 and in turn will influence discussion at Anthopy25. The 14 Anthropy25 themes are: Our Economic Prosperity Our Responsible Leadership & Management Our Future Generations Our Climate and Natural Places The Role of Media and Communications Our Global Role Addressing Inequality Political Engagement and Civic Participation Our Vibrant Places Education and Skills Fit For Our Futures Our Healthy Futures Our Working Lives Our Culture Cross Sector Collaboration Find out more here https://lnkd.in/gy3Ermcw #Anthropy #Leaders #Leadership #LeadershipEvent #Conference #Networking #Business #BusinessLeaders #EarlyBird #LeadershipSummit #Sustainability #SustainableEvents

At Anthropy UK we encourage leaders to break down their silos and leave their egos at the door when entering into meaningful discourse. Finding new thinking and problem-solving initiatives requires us to collaborate across sectors. Our members have access to a network through which to pursue collaborative efforts and share best practices and innovative thinking for longer-term solutions. International, Trade, Aid & Influence Alliance Chair and Managing Partner of Anthropy member Reed Smith LLP, Tamara Box, shares her thoughts on this. What makes your community vibrant? I'm curious to know not just what we all love about the places we live in, but also what makes yours feel alive for you? For me, it's all about a sense of belonging. This means making an effort to know people and forge connections. I feel part of: The dog walking community 🐕 The local school community 🏫 The gym-going community 💪 Plus, I have friends and neighbours I can stop and chat with. These connections matter deeply to me. I feel valued and cared for, and this reaches deeply into me and makes me care back. What matters to you in creating a vibrant place? Vibrant Places is one of the Anthropy UK membership alliances - if you want to know more, have a look at this video from the recent event where leaders shared their thoughts. And who knows...as you reflect, you might realise just how valued you are in your community. That feeling of belonging can be as comforting as a warm hug! 🤗😊
At our latest vibrant places event, hosted at our Birmingham office last month, we spoke to several leaders to gain their thoughts on the topic. In this video we asked them how they defined a vibrant community and what the essentials are to creating one. Anthropy UK national gatherings are not ordinary conferences, rather a complete and enriching experience for attendees who convene to create an empowered community. Our membership allows these connections to continue beyond the biomes. The Anthropy Membership is a community environment for members to continue the conversation and action, post gathering. We are dedicated to keeping the spirit of Anthropy alive beyond our national gatherings through membership events and our new Anthropy Alliances, which will create opportunities for potential collaboration across the year as well as feeding into the agenda for the national gathering. Anthropy is hope and our members envisage a brighter future for all. Within the Anthropy UK network there is no “me” or “you” … It’s about all of us coming together to create positive change. Anthropy is dedicated to fostering cross-sector collaboration to address national interests by creating the opportunity for people of varying backgrounds and sectors to connect, where they previously may not have. Empowering leaders to break out of their silos and work together to innovate positive change. Working with a cross-sector network across business and non-profit, Anthropy facilitates changing practices, new partnerships, influencing policy and transforming personal behaviour. As leaders from all sectors come together, they forge meaningful connections, exchange experiences, and collaborate on transformative ideas. Our members understand that breaking down traditional silos and promoting open communication, trust, and mutual respect are vital. Join the network, make a difference. At our recent vibrant places event, we had the please of hearing from our fantastic panellists who shared insight on their experiences, thoughts, and journey surrounding creating a vibrant place. Tariq Shah OBE from Vigo Group said: “If we’re going to build more houses then we need to see real public and private partnerships. We need to honest about whether there is risk and where there is reward and share this equally – for too long we’ve left the risk at the door of the public sector, while accepting all the reward in the private sector.” Download our vibrant places report here: https://lnkd.in/epSwhBsD #VibrantPlaces #Leadership #Sustainability #Housing #Community #Development Ben Buckton Sarah Walker-Smith Emma Houghton Jemma Page Sophie Mee Daljit Flora Amarysia Aujla
