MoEa launches sneakers with the lowest carbon footprint made from PIÑAYARN French sneaker brand MoEa introduces the lowest carbon footprint sneaker GEN6 in their new collection. Made from PIÑAYARN®, the sneaker emits 4,81kg* of CO2, which is 84%* less compared to an equivalent animal leather sneaker. (* from a study conducted by FAIRLY MADE® in 2024) The GEN6 collection has been accredited VEGAN by PETA. This accreditation confirms the entirely cruelty-free nature of GEN6, assuring that no animals were harmed or exploited in the making of these sneakers. With the low-impact manufacturing process, PIÑAYARN is derived from agricultural waste and processed in a closed loop production, working to the values of circular economy. The trainer upper is crafted with 30% Anam PALF pineapple leaf fibre and 70% TENCEL Lyocell™, wood pulp obtained from sustainably managed forests. The MoEa shoe is a result of collaboration between forward-looking companies and partners of Ananas Anam; yarn by Tearfil Textile Yarns and knitted shoe upper by CosmiKnit Lda.

WASTE + VALORISATION = ANAM PALF 🍃✨ Last year we prevented 4,418 tons of CO2 emissions by saving pineapple leaves from becoming waste, and instead turning them into the sustainable textile fibre Anam PALF® 🍍 80% of pineapple leaf waste is burned on average, so by converting the leaves from waste into fibres for textiles like Piñatex® and Piñayarn®, we prevent the pineapple leaves from being burned and save CO2 emissions from being released into the atmosphere 🌎 Preventing the leaves from being burned also helps to preserve the quality of the soil in the farms, which can become damaged when the waste is burned 🌱 👉 Find out more about our Impact here: https://lnkd.in/ebqVJchU #AnanasAnam #PineappleLeafFibre #SustainableFashion #PlantBased #LowImpact

According to The Earthshot Prize motto, URGENCY+OPTIMISM = ACTION, Change is not happening fast enough or at the scale we need. Despite the challenges of high levels of climate anxiety and political interventions occurring too slowly, we remain optimists, while we continue finding solutions within our own company and beyond. Last week, at London Climate Action Week, we joined with other likeminded individuals and companies to share innovative approaches and find genuine new avenues for a more regenerative planet while repairing the environment. Our Founder and Piñatex Inventor, Dr Carmen Hijosa, was invited by The Earthshot Prize and its partner, Bloomberg Philanthropies, to take part in a series of events alongside a select group of innovators, experts and business leaders, discussing innovations that can set the planet on a healthier path. “The Earth is at a tipping point. We face a stark choice: either we continue as we are and irreparably damage our planet, or we remember our unique power as humans and our continual ability to lead, innovate and problem-solve. People can achieve great things. The next ten years present us with one of our greatest tests – a decade of action to repair the Earth.” - HRH Prince William, Founder and President of The Earthshot Prize
