It's been a busy but incredibly rewarding 2 days in Rotterdam, attending the 5th Decarbonization Forum. I had the honor of kicking things off with a keynote speech focusing on decarbonization in shipping. In my speech, I emphasized the critical role of energy efficiency. Reducing our reliance on fossil fuels today not only benefits the environment, but also minimizes the future costs associated with the transition to zero-carbon alternatives. Later, I joined Panel 3: Efficiency & Sustainability in Maritime Operations together with Yvette van der Sommen from Value Maritime, Gijs Streppel from MEYER WERFT GmbH & Co. KG, Christian Peter Hoepfner from Unifeeder, and Zacharias Klados from Selma, moderated by Gavin Allwright from International Windship Association. Thanks to all panellists for the discussion full with insights on best practices, innovative solutions, and strategic approaches to drive decarbonisation in the maritime sector. A special shout-out to my colleague Ratna Nataliani, who participated in the 1st panel discussion on "Sailing towards Sustainability: Environmental Regulations and Industry Compliance", discussion issues around the complicance regarding our decarbonisation journey. The entire forum was a good opportunity to collaborate and learn from industry leaders. We're all in this together, and by working collaboratively, we can achieve a more sustainable maritime future.
