InterMoor is proud to have completed the 12 mooring piles for the Salamanca floating production unit (FPU) located in the Gulf of Mexico and operated by LLOG Exploration Co. At 16’OD x 80’ long, the piles weigh at 171 S tons each. Over 2,000 tons of steel! InterMoor provided the design of the piles from their engineering office in Houston, as well as the steel procurement and fabrication of the piles at their Morgan City, Louisiana facility. The teams coordinated with D3 Engineering Solutions on the project. Carrie Adams, General Manager, InterMoor Inc., says: “InterMoor is proud to partner with LLOG on the design, fabrication and loadout of the Salamanca mooring piles. The coordination between our engineering and fabrication teams ensured a seamless process, accelerated timelines and support to complete the project safely and on budget. The successful completion of the project is a testament to the meticulous planning, coordination and execution by everyone involved. It sets a high standard for future projects and reinforces our reputation for delivering quality results on time. Thank you to all team members for your hard work and dedication.“

A Mooring Emergency Response Plan is the blueprint for readiness in the face of adversity. This comprehensive strategy outlines options and steps to take in the event of a mooring system emergency: - ⛴ Identifying suitable installation vessels - ⚓️ Pinpointing mooring equipment replacement suppliers and their lead times - 📌 Finding suitable mobilisation docks. - ⛓ Determining how many spare mooring components and installation aids should be procured or fabricated, and their maintenance schedule. - 📋 Developing preliminary offshore operations procedures to repair compromised line components and a plan to install new ones. By integrating a Mooring Emergency Response Plan, floating wind farms can significantly reduce repair costs and minimise production losses caused by downtime. ➡️ https://hubs.ly/Q02FNbr90 #floatingwind #offshore #mooring #anchor

Optimising offshore pile driving: The right hammer matters! When it comes to offshore pile driving, using the biggest hammer at full power is not always best. Choosing the optimal hammer size for an installation is crucial. But that is not all - having the right technology and a skilled crew with the knowhow is equally essential. Why? Installation efficiency: Pile driving efficiency depends on selecting the right hammer. A well-matched hammer ensures smoother installation, reducing delays and project timelines. 🔵 Soil-specific risks: Different soil conditions pose unique challenges. Using the wrong hammer can lead to pile refusal (when the pile won’t penetrate the soil) or pile run (when the pile tilts or shifts during installation). The right hammer minimises these risks. 🔵 Geo-hazards mitigation: Offshore environments are dynamic. Geo-hazards like underwater landslides or shifting seabeds can impact pile stability. An appropriately sized hammer helps mitigate these risks. 🔵 Flexibility and accuracy: Modern hydraulic underwater hammers offer flexibility. Skilled technicians can adjust hammer force during piling to avoid incidents and optimise results. 🔵 Customisable solutions: Hammers can be tailored to each project. Control and monitoring units, noise mitigation tech, and energy range adjustments ensure adaptability. Remember, it is not just about power – it is about precision, adaptability, and teamwork. 🌊 ➡️ https://hubs.ly/Q02DRfgP0 MENCK #OffshoreEngineering #PileDriving #Infrastructure
