‘They’re all brilliant, hardworking people.’ What a compliment to all the teams here at Aberdeen from our Communications Manager, Lee. Lee started his career as a journalist. He was covering the terminal extension when the Communications Manager job was posted, and since the team had made him feel so welcome, he took the next step to join! Thanks for all you do and taking the time to chat with us ❤️

Aberdeen Airport in the 1950s 🛬 Known for its post-war economic boom, this decade saw infinite innovation and growth for businesses across the globe - including Aberdeen Airport. In 1952, we proudly opened a brand new runway and welcomed some impressive aircraft to our grounds. Check out some more of our highlights below.

Did you see the Catalina flyby yesterday? To mark 80 years since WW2 veteran John Cruickshank, aged 104, was awarded the Victoria Cross, a Catalina visited the area for a flyby over his home. While here, the plane was stationed at Aberdeen Airport. It was an honour to have the plane and crew here for this incredibly special moment.

We loved having Sam with us for work experience ✈️ Great work from all the teams who helped make this possible, especially Robert Paterson. Who knows, maybe we will see Sam back working at Aberdeen Airport in the future!

A post to say a huge thank you to Aberdeen International Airport for the fantastic work experience that you have given to my son Sam this week. I'll be passing through the airport as a traveller tomorrow, so I hope to be able to say thank you in person also. He has been enthusiastic in his praise for all Duty Managers, the fire service, police and assistance team for all the engaging work he got to experience. Robert Paterson - thanks for organising this with Dominic Kite. You've all whetted his appetite for all things aviation even further!

On Thank You Day, we want to give a huge thank you to our teams across the airport who all work tirelessly to keep the airport moving ✈️ From our retail teams to the office workers, and from those in the terminal to those out on the runway and up in the sky, all the staff at Aberdeen Airport deserve a huge thank you for their hard work ❤️ Who would you like to express your gratitude to today?

Our 90th celebrations continue, this time with our Plane Spotters! ✈️ We welcomed 24 spotters into the airport as part of a Spotters Morning for our 90th anniversary celebrations. They have had the chance to get up close to some aircraft and see the behind the scenes of the airport. Plus, they have helped us raise over £500 for AberNecessities. A successful morning all round ❤️

Have you spotted these new murals at Aberdeen Airport? Nuart Aberdeen (International Street Art Festival) is back, and this year, we're getting involved with 3 new murals around the airport. All three pieces celebrate Scotland’s rich connection to Celtic and Pagan Mythology, connecting the past with the present. We couldn’t think of a better time than now, our 90th anniversary year, to be celebrating art with this theme ❤️ All art is by KMG, a Scottish based artist who explores themes of community, mythology and history in her art. Thank you for these incredible pieces!
