About us
WHAT WE DO: We formulate products for Black men who have problems with flaky scalp, patchy beards and dry hair. AW is specifically formulated with specially sourced ingredients to meet the needs of black men. Creating soft healthy hair with long lasting moisture. WHO WE ARE: We are a company who are determined to build a brand that black men everywhere can be truly proud of. We are on a mission to champion and redefine the perception of black men world wide. We want to inspire black men to be the best they can be, by looking and feeling good and exuding confidence from the inside out. Which is why we have spent the last two years researching and developing a line of products that will help solve many of the hair and skin care challenges faced by men with afro hair and skin. We have ensured that our products contain only the very best in quality natural ingredients that work. Black Seed Oil and Mango Butter are rich in much needed nutrients and can be found in all our products. A BIT OF HISTORY: We originally launched in 2016 from the Shear and Shine Barbershop in South London. During his time as a barber, Aaron saw first hand the challenges faced by his clientele when it came to having access to good quality products that would solve their hair and skin care problems. As a black man, Aaron could personally relate to their frustrations and decided to do something about it. We sat down with various black men and asked key questions that would allow us to form a deeper and more complex understanding of what black men actually need. We spent the next two years working alongside formulation experts and manufacturers to develop and test products that would actually work to improve afro hair and skin, without the use of any toxic ingredients. Our key ingredients of Black Seed Oil and Mango Butter are rich in much needed nutrients that work to combat dryness, reduce breakage, protect against environmentally caused damage and encourage healthier hair growth.

Black History Month done well 👏🏿 Sainsbury's invited us Aaron Wallace and their other Black owned suppliers to an epic supplier fair at their HQ in Holborne and what a day it was 🧡 With over 200 people in attendance, we couldn't keep out stand replenished fast enough. A huge thank you to Ludivine Doyen and Megan for being literal AW employees for the day and helping me keep the stand stocked up 🤗 A huge thank you and standing ovation to Keith Black, Veronica Mikurova Assoc CIPD and the entire DEI team at Sainsbury's for putting together such a well structured, well thought out and well executed Black History Month celebration 🙌🏿
