On January 12, Zelenskyy and Sunak signed the UK-Ukraine Agreement on Security Cooperation. Britain becomes the first country to sign such an agreement following the G7 Joint Declaration of support for Ukraine. London will continue to support Kyiv for the next 10 years of the Agreement. Among the key facts: ▪️ The UK announced £2.5 billion in military aid for Ukraine in 2024. It is the UK’s largest annual commitment since February 2022. ▪️ Ukraine will no longer ask Britain for military aid because it will be given automatically. Both in the event of a new aggression and in the event of an escalation of the current one. ▪️ Ukraine and the UK have agreed on an emergency coordination procedure in the event of a future armed attack - a response within 24 hours. In this case, Ukraine will receive the necessary military equipment and economic assistance. ▪️ It is a two-way arrangement. Ukraine must be able to provide effective military assistance to its ally in the event of external military aggression against the UK.

Russia claims it targets only military objectives with precision weapons. Meanwhile, it destroyed a hotel filled with 30 civilians, including international journalists. 13 people were injured, among them Turkish journalists, and nine were hospitalized. The first Russian strike occurred a minute after the air raid was declared. The attack was likely carried out with a hypersonic missile from the Belgorod Region. As a result, guests and staff had no time to reach the shelter. Video: The State Emergency Service of Ukraine #kharkiv #russianagression

The Russian military recently killed Ukrainian poet, Maksym Kryvtsov. Together with his red cat. In 2013, the poet was at the forefront of the Revolution of Dignity. Next year, he went to fight Russians in the East. When the invaders crossed Ukraine's border once again in 2022, Maksym became a machine gunner. Even in the trenches, Kryvtsov continued to write. His collection ‘Poems from the Loophole’ became a bestseller in 2023. While Kryvtsov was defending Ukraine, his red cat was defending the dugout from mice. On August 31st, President Zelensky announced the successful use of Ukrainian long-range missile, hitting a target 700 km away. "This is a completely new missile, and we will continue to enhance its capabilities in terms of range and accuracy," says Brigadier General Serhii Baranov, Chief of the Main Directorate of Missile Forces and Artillery, and Unmanned Systems at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an interview with the KYIV NOT KIEV project. Missile forces and artillery create many problems for the enemy. "The professionalism of our military allows us to hit a target with a 152 caliber shell from a distance of 28 kilometers, hitting the bullseye (in Ukrainian, the expression sounds like hitting the squirrel’s eye)," General Baranov says with a faint smile. However, behind this jest lies a great deal of pride in the skill of Ukrainian artillerymen who adeptly master Western weapon models, successfully utilize them, and maintain them. What work precedes each cannon shot? What does Ukrainian artillery need to expedite the return of Crimea? What portion of artillery needs is supplied by Ukrainian defense industry? Find out in the first part of the interview with Tetiana Gaiduk and General Baranov. The second part will be released tomorrow. https://lnkd.in/dXcpaScn #KYIVNOTKIEV #SerhiiBaranov #standwithUkraine #artillery
