CANECSA is the College of Anaesthesiologists for East, Central and Southern Africa. Constituent member countries are Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The low number of anaesthesiologists in the region is a critical barrier to the provision of safe surgery. CANECSA aims to address this barrier by advancing education, standards, and research in safe anaesthesia and critical care for the people of East, Central, Southern Africa.
