How to Die Alone Hulu Release Date

Natasha Rothwell gets a new lease on life in the upcoming Hulu comedy How to Die Alone, which will debut the first four episodes on Friday, Sept. 13; new episodes stream on Fridays.

The half-hour series follows Mel (played by Rothwell), a “broke, fat, Black JFK airport employee who’s never been in love and forgotten how to dream,” per the official synopsis, “until an accidental brush with death catapults her on a journey to finally take flight and start living by any means necessary.”

Rothwell, who created the series, executive-produces and serves as co-showrunner alongside Vera Santamaria (PEN15, Orange Is the New Black).

Conrad Ricamora (The Resident, Fire Island), Jocko Sims (New Amsterdam), KeiLyn Durrel Jones (The Other Two, Succession) and Bashir Salahuddin (South Side, Sherman’s Showcase) round out the ensemble.

Filmed in 2023, before they enlisted for mandatory military service in South Korea, the eight-episode show follows the pair as they trek through New York; Jeju Island, South Korea and Sapporo, Japan.
