Chicago Fires newest paramedic is here to stay. Jocelyn Hudon, who portrays Lyla Novak, has been promoted to series regular ahead of the firefighter drama’s upcoming 13th season, our sister site Deadline reports.

Hudon appeared in five episodes of Season 12, beginning on April 3. When last we saw Novak in the season finale on May 22, she was accidentally hit in the head by firefighter Jack Damon during an emergency call at a restaurant.

Hudon joins a robust list of current series regulars on the Dick Wolf procedural, which already includes Taylor Kinney as Kelly Severide, David Eigenberg as Christopher Herrmann, Christian Stolte as Randall “Mouch” McHolland, Joe Minoso as Joe Cruz, Miranda Rae Mayo as Stella Kidd, Daniel Kyri as Darren Ritter and Hanako Greensmith as Violet Mikami.

Chicago Fire also saw the departure of several series regulars in Season 12; Eamonn Walker’s Wallace Boden was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of the CFD in the finale, while Kara Killmer’s Sylvie Brett left midway through the season after marrying Jesse Spencer’s Matthew Casey. Prior to the Season 12 premiere, it was also announced that Alberto Rosende would not be returning as Blake Gallo.

Are you glad to hear that you’ll be seeing more of Novak in Season 13? Drop a comment with your thoughts on Hudon’s promotion below.
