How can I access your services?

Whether you need immediate shelter or are on the brink of homelessness, we’re here and ready to help. The Day Center provides a variety of services, including shelter, meals and showers to help you get back on your feet. If you need case management services, call us at 918-583-5588 and ask for a case management screening.

How can you help me overcome homelessness?

Our case managers work closely with you to help address the issues keeping you from achieving your goals. We have many resources to put you back on a path of independence and want you to feel empowered to overcome homelessness.

What are the requirements to become a day center client?

Our doors are open to all who need help or support.

Can I stay there overnight?

A limited night shelter is available for at-risk clients who are working with a case manager.

Are meals provided?

Dinner is served each evening and snacks are provided twice a day. Breakfast is also provided to those who stay in the night shelter.

Do you have any access to free or low-cost health care?

Unlike most Tulsa homeless shelters, the Tulsa Day Center provides acute medical services at no cost. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a lunch break from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. All who sign up will be seen during clinic hours.

What kind of volunteers do you need?

We are always in need of volunteers with a wide range of skill levels, including RNs to help in our clinic, civic groups and congregations to serve meals, and individuals to assist in our clothing room.

How can I donate a meal?

If you’re interested in serving, email our volunteer coordinator to sign up for the next available date. If you prefer to serve a smaller number of people, opportunities are also available at Hudson Villas.

Do I need a food handler permit to serve?

A food handler permit is recommended but not required.

Do I need any kind of qualifications to volunteer?

To serve in our clinic, you must be a registered nurse. Otherwise, tell us about your skills, abilities and interests, and we will help you discover the best volunteer opportunities for you.

Where can I take donations?

Donations may be delivered any day of the week between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 415 W. Archer on our west side loading dock.

How many individuals do you serve every year?

300-400 clients seek help daily for a total of nearly 150,000 client contacts annually.

How many who come through your doors received case management services?

We opened nearly 20,000 case management files in 2023.

Has the need for your case management services increased over time?

The number of case management files opened in 2023 was 5% over 2022, and a 45% increase from 2020.

How many people did you treat in your medical clinic?

In 2023, we served 2,243 clients in our clinic for a total of nearly 6,966 clinic visits.

Have any ER visits been averted by your team at the clinic?

The medical professionals in our clinic averted 421 emergency room visits in 2023, which in turn saved the Tulsa community $1,052,500 in indigent care costs.

How many volunteers did you have?

We had 667 volunteers working at the Day Center in 2023.

How many hours did your volunteers put in?

Our volunteers donated 11,999 hours of work which translates to a gift of $381,568 to the Day Center if we had paid staff providing services.
