Here are a few still and progress shots from my recent vignette painting after Anthony VanDyck's painting of Cornelis van der Gesst. It never ceases to amaze me how such a variety of skin tones can be achieved from only 4 colors which are most commonly known as the Zorn Palette. In the digital symphony of self-expression, amidst the relentless pursuit of validation, there exists a silent plea—a woman, poised at the threshold of visibility, her silhouette a testament to the hunger for acknowledgment.

In the frame of the picture, she stands, fingertips grazing the edges of recognition, her essence dissolving into pixels and light. Yet, despite her fervent reach, she remains on the periphery, a spectral figure in the landscape of online clamor.
