Andhra Pradesh youth drowned to death in US

RAJAHMUNDRY: A student from Andhra Pradesh, Gadde Sai Surya Avinash(25) accidentally slipped into a waterfall and drowned in the United States. Avinash belongs to Chityala village under Gopalapuram mandal in East Godavari district, drowned at Barberville Falls in Albany, New York. Avinash, who is pursuing M.S in the United States, went to his relative’s home after getting three days of holidays and went to waterfalls.Avinash went to the US 18 months ago and his MS course is getting over. Avinash’s father, Srinivasa Rao who is in Chityala village has received the message from the US authorities. Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has expressed condolence over the tragic incident and is making efforts to send the body to India as soon as possible. The body of Avinash is likely to reach Chityala by Friday.
The Consulate General of India in New York said Avinash from Chitalya in East Godavari district, drowned on Saturday, July 7 at Barberville Falls in Albany, New York. "We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Mr. Sai Surya Avinash Gadde, a student at Trine University, who drowned on 7th July at Barberville Falls, Albany, NY," the Consulate said in a post on X on Tuesday.
Avinash is the son of Gadde Srinivasa Rao who is a marginal farmer in Chityala village under Gopalapuram mandal in East Godavari district. Avinash has completed B.Tech in Sasi Engineering College in Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district. He is studying second year in M.S in Trine University in Detroit city and completed three semesters. He is scheduled to complete the course after completion of the fourth semester in December this year. He along with his friends went to see waterfalls at about 4 p.m on Sunday (US time) and he slipped into the waterfall and drowned at about 7 a.m(IST). The parents, Srinivasa Rao and Sirisha who are expecting their son’s return very soon, collapsed after hearing the news of his death. Pall of gloom descended over the tiny village of Chityala as the news of the demise of a promising youngster from the village.
