VMC drags feet on digitization project

Vadodara: While the state government may have taken a major step towards digitization by seeking all communication and file management on a portal, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is yet to implement the system. The civic body has now asked its officials to implement this at the earliest.
The state government has started the ‘E-Sarkar’ portal and the urban development department has told the VMC to use the portal for communication and file management.Various departments of the civic body have not implemented the system and some officials have not even created user IDs for the new system.
The civic body in a circular has now asked all the officials to ensure they create their user IDs on priority. They have been asked to coordinate with the IT department of the civic body for the same. The IT department has also been given the necessary instructions. TNN
